It's been the cheapest I've ever seen, with the pricing of RX 480 customs AIBs being $439 on PCCG, IMO it's a good investment on this card.
Camelcamelcamel $500 USD so about $715.45 AUD.

yes in some cases, but dx12 different story.
Yeah. That's not many games. Why pay for card that's faster on 10% of games and slower on 90%?
You're right, I'm assuming people may play in 1440p or higher, not all games will stay on dx11.
because you are playing the 10% not the 90% ….. different folks different needs.
I can't justify paying over $400 for anything from AMD right now.
AMD only competes at the moment at the RX480/GTX1060 level.
Why not buy a GeForce GTX 970 for half the price? www.ozbargain.com.au/node/260088
That is a good price! However nVidia has placed all 900 series cards as "legacy" now. No further performance drivers, so expect it to tank pretty hard in games soon - just like the 700 series cards bedore it.
I'm a self-confessed AMD fanboi, but…I can't really recommend this given what else is on the market atm.
I'm waiting for the 480 with 8 pin connector and preferably 4GB RAM ….. The 4GB cards are cheap and I don't need the extra memory ….. problem is supply, they sell the 4GB faster than they can stock them.
I feel your pain, I was gonna bite the bullet and get the xfx RX 480 on PCCG, but the pricing was a bit high, building one for a friend.
If you need freesync, so it might be a good deal.
Fury X has been going for US $400 a few times in the US, this really isn't the best deal considering…
gtx1070 kills this, id recommend buying one of the many posted. still a good deal though
