Alternative to Austalia Post for Shipping

So I've finally lost it with Australia Post. Although looking at the receipt I think I was overcharged. I posted a box from Melbourne to 4650 Qld & it cost me $29.95. It was slightly over 3kg but the receipt is showing 5kg to 6kg (cubing). Anyway regardless who can keep up with their stupid pricing and I'm over it.

I have a side eBay business which is more of a hobby but I notice I'm doing a lot of running around and packaging takes forever. Basically what I'm trying to say is, I'm investing a lot of time into the business which is fine because I honestly enjoy it.
What I don't enjoy is most of my work going to eBay, Paypal & Australia Post. There's nothing I can do about eBay and Paypal but surely there is a way to get a cheaper, reliable post service.

Can someone please recommend a good company, to keep me motivated in my business, because this is getting ridiculous.

*** I know about Officeworks Mail Man and I wont be using that service, because it is cheap and nasty and I don't want to have to chase up every parcel I send .

    just order yourself the ebay prepaid bags from them. print out the address and no oz post. i got no idea if its more cost effective

        ive just joined sendle, looks promising. flat rates. but there will be a few instances where OZPO will be cheaper. Hopefully Sendle will drive some competition into the marketplace.

          Yeah some competition is badly needed. It's good officeworks got on board but their service is very bad although in their defence I have had some good results if I register the parcel but I cant risk the bad feedback if something takes nearly a month to be delivered so never again. I was lucky the buyer was also a ebay seller & understood otherwise would have left me bad feedback
