I have two of these, one for work and one for home. They are well made. They are 5 star rated on Banggood with 50+ reviews. Similar sizes on Amazon are around $US15+.

One criticism is that they do have a chemical smell when you first receive it. Put it through the washing machine about 5 or six times and you're good to go.

At this price I am ordering three more for gifts (after washing).

What are these for ? How does the "thickening" come into play ?

  • +7

What's the point of these? Is it just a huge mousepad?

    • desk mat i guess, id like a 40x20cm one for my pull out desk tho

    • +3

keeps your keyboard from sliding around (as long as it has rubber feet).

Also acts a huge mousepad for your mouse so u never run out of space when gaming which has happenned to me too many times

THis basically takes your entire immediate working area and turns it into a mousepad.

i dont see whats so funny about it?

      • -2

Well, thing is I don't have an issue with my keyboard sliding around with no rubber feet.

And my desk is working pretty good for mousepad :)

        • so basically…this deal isnt for you then?

  • Yep, I agree with the comments above - the product (as the OP describes it) makes no sense whatsoever.

Why would my keyboard need a table mat?

    • Here, choose from this list I made up since you can't fathom a reason!

Here, choose from this list I made up since you can't fathom a reason!

        Nice list. Deserves comment…

Cheap > free if you don't buy!
Disposable > nothing to dispose of if you don't buy!
Easy to clean > nothing to clean if you don't buy!
Reduces slip > My keyboard never slips (and I WANT my mouse to slip).
Large surface area > which is completely covered by a keyboard?
Coloured edge > frays and looks tacky = not worth $8.60)
Protects desk > from what, plastic vapours under the keyboard?
Replaces mousepad > with something more expensive, with an inferior mousing surface.
Grants you the ability to think > now THAT is something useful.

I am typing this post on a keyboard that is sitting on a bare desk, and it doesn't move. My mouse is currently on a mouse pad because it's a shitty work-issued device that wont track on my wooden desk. Usually I don't use one.

        So, it's a mousepad. For $8.60, that's not a bargain at all.

        • Why would my keyboard need a table mat?

I was answering your question. What question did I ask?

  • +2

For the love of bargains… Why ???

    • +3

"If you make it, they will buy."

      • +2

        More like:
"If you make it, give it an unholy markup, then publicise a discount back down to something reasonable, and don't rip people of with shipping costs, then they will buy"

    • because some people are able to think beyond JV's use case

  • +3

Cool. I was actually looking for one of these!

    • the standard, or the deluxe ?

      • Haha, I actually just realised that it might be a bit small actually. 800mm x 300mm would be pretty good.

  • +2

Good for card games such as MTG and Yugioh

Personally, I use it as a resting surface on my desks. In winter and summer it is temperature neutral and it is a little softer than the hard desk to lean on when reading off the computer screen. Not bad to write on top of also.

    • i do exactly the same, mine often serve as a giant coaster also

      its also just more comfortable

  • Is it a non-slip surface?

    • +1

Well, the mat itself on a desk is non-slip. The material is best described as Wet Suite material or higher grade mouse mat material.

So with a keyboard on it that has rubber feet, the keyboard stays in place but will move under greater lateral pressure.

Does it work with Macs or only PCs?

    😜

    • +6

Only PC's, you need the Apple certified version if you want to use it with OSX.

    • +2

Definitely PC only. Mac version would be white!

      • And of course, it'd cost twice as much 😋

  • I got one of these for my mechanical keyboard.. pretty good. non slip and makes keyboard a little quieter.

  • +1

you find it on ebay from local seller for cheaper
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/60-30cm-Extra-Large-Gaming-Mouse-…

    • Thanks for the link but not quite. This deal is for 700mm and your link is 600mm. That extra 10cms makes a big difference.
