Great keyboard with Cherry Red switches. Can't actually buy this model in Australia any more, but a great alternative for those that done care for the grey colour or no RGB (which seems to be the craze with the PC Master Race at the moment?) which sells for ~$170 locally.

  • I just got my k70 delivered as part of prime day sales (I joined the 30 day free period).

And I gotta say the keyboard is amazing.

I researched a fair bit before buying a new mouse (G502) and keyboard (K70) and whilst I found the g502 a little underwhelming the K70 was worth every dollar.

The only difference between the two are that the k70 has the numpad.

Can't say if the price is a deal or not - but the keyboard is magnificent.

    • Dang, there was a sale >_> was looking to get a K70 and scimitar. Is that still on?

      • Same chasing the K70 RGB rapid fire for a good price

      • It was a limited time deal on Prime day. I signed up for that $10 audible deal for the 30 days free period.

Ah it wasn't that cheap tbh. 125aud delivered for the ganing edition, non LUX non rapidfire, non rgb

    • The only difference between the two are that the k70 has the numpad.

      K70 also has volume knob.

tempted by the K65, as I think i'd prefer TKL…but if only it had the volume knob!

      • I didn't realise how much I used the number pad enter key (with my mouse thumb - for sending chat messages at least when typing short chat messages one handed) - until I couldn't be bothered unboxing my non-TKL keyboard when I moved house recently.

I feel like I need a 9KL keyboard with just a random enter key hanging over there. Maybe I should map a mouse button.. or just get a USB 'enter' key?

        • You could try mapping one of the keys above the arrow keys.

        • @Diji1: Actually that reminds me: you can actually buy a USB "numberpad" :D

        • @Diji1: Yeah, but that defeats the purpose of TKL (better posture due to mouse and wasd hand placement).

        • @Lukian: TKL?

Not sure how having your hands 6 inches closer together is going to improve posture on the face of it ….

        • @Diji1: Some snips from various articles:

This allows the keyboard not only to be smaller and more ergonomic, but it lets you move your mouse closer together so you don’t have to reach so far.

While everyone’s layout needs will be different, you should ask yourself how often you use the extra keys. It’s surprising how much desk room you save with a tenkeyless or compact keyboard

They seem to result in a more ergonomic work/gaming area.

        • @Lukian: Yeah I've often thought about getting one of these keyboards just for that reason :)

You can place this USB numberpad anywhere - it'd be interesting to try having it on the other side of the mouse so you move the mouse between the number-pad-less keyboard and the USB number pad.

      • Oh really then forget the k65. That volume roller is great

    • Are you in search of a better mouse? I've got a CM storm mizar and is pretty good minus the average build quality. I'm looking at the corsair m65 or something like that..

  • +1

The only downside of this keyboard is no backlit.

Not a bargain, but won't downvote since it's subjective. This keyboard sold for $89-99 when it was available.

    • -1

It was around $130 when I was looking at buying one.

      • +1

Nope, MSY and other stores (i think pccg) had it at normal price of $95-99

    • -1

I wonder if that was the clearance price locally rather than the RRP? But can't get them locally thus posted this deal as an alternate since TKL (let alone mech KBs) is quite popular \ pricey nowadays

      • +1

Gigabyte's backlit tkl has went for $59 quite a few times, normal price $120. Also Logitech's backlit tkl is also $120. There are numerous full size mechs for $80.

  • +1

    grey colour or no RGB

Guy, surely you aren't questioning the claim that RGB lighting will cause you to become a better gamer? Because everyone knows that RGB lighting causes massive increases in gaming skills, I mean duh.

  • I actually found this when looking for a corsair mouse. I already own the k70 and the build quality is amazing! The metal chassis is very nice. I like the industrial look of this KB though

  • might want to google "corsair kb70 problem". although corsair may have fixed the problems with a more recent batch.
