  • Even though i am in melb… A plus from me.. Cheap tickets are always good.

    • This already applies to Melton, Sunbury, and Dandenong.

I think even Epping has some cheap ticket prices too.

I dunno about Dandy, but I've been to the other three and the auditoriums are quite good.

      • Yep can confirm it has been on for a while at Epping

        • Same, I can confirm Melton has been $10 for ages :)

Just checked.. Seems like this is at more locations than just Rhodes. Chirnside Park, vic shows as $10 (under Amazing value) as well.
    Cheers!

Does this come with police officers to get you past the crowds of pokemon go players?

This is a great cinema (as most Reading cinemas are). Comfortable seats, good screen and sound. Much cleaner and tidier than Hoyts or Event. No disgusting toilets. Good number of screen and movie options. Gold class is excellent.

    • +4

Used to be my favourite cinema a long time ago for the reasons you stated above however after visiting Event Cinemas at Top Ryde after it opened than going back to Rhodes theres is a massive difference in screen quality and you can tell that the equipment is too old. Its very pixelated.

Top cinema for screen quality at the moment in my opinion is Miranda Event Cinemas.

Although with this deal at $10 its too big a bargain to miss lol

      • +10

Problem with Top Ryde is after you get into that place you can never find an exit.

I often see tired hungry drivers who look like they've been driving around that car park for hours and their petrol is about to run out. ;)

        • +1

This morning I accidentally drove into the carpark at direction of google maps and took 20mins to escape!!

        • +3

always enter down via the red level. Thats where the exits are (at either end)

if you enter via any other level. Then see you in 20 mins

        • +1

I actually think finding the right level to park is even more ridiculous

  • This deal seems to be taking the lead of my local Readings in Belmont WA and few others elsewhere, they had a $10 Birthday month a few years back and numbers went up big time, the prices in turn never went back up.

  • +1 for meatball reference.

  • Everything seems to be $10 at West Lakes (SA) as well and has been for some time according to (https://www.westfield.com.au/westlakes/events/reading-cinema…). I wonder if this is a permanent thing at all Reading Cinemas now?

Can confirm that the West Lakes one is very nice too - very comfortable seats.

Confirmed $10 for Reading Cinema - AUBURN NSW

Not sure if they have upgraded Reading Cinema Auburn over the past year but last time i went there it was terrible. Dodgy sound system, artifacts on the screen etc. The upgraded Hoyts Cinema's with recliners are so much better than anything else available in Sydney at the moment. Can get good price tickets via rewards programs such as Bupa too!

    • +1

Agreed. Once you do reclining seats, there's no going back. Well worth the extra $2-3.

  • Has been $10 for over a year at Melton (Vic)…started as a Xmas Holiday trial, and they never looked back….will be a mix of screen sizes, so best to get into a session in the first week or two for the larger screen.

  • +3

Now you can do something other than pokemon go

    • +3

lmao I had in mind of this cinema as a backup if I'm there and the server's down

  • +9

That's awesome! I like this cinema.

Hit up free/$5 burrito from Gomez then catch a movie….15 bucks all up. That's genuine 1995 prices.

  • +2

At this price it's actually worthwhile paying to see a movie. DMCA requests due to piracy may go down as a result ???
'Nothing' worse than paying $18 to see a crap movie, at $10 that sting is lessened.

  • Why this price? From $18.50-$22 it dropped down to $10? WHy? wheres the reason? Is it too good to be true?
What are the prices for 3D? +$3?

    • The reason is 10 dollars seemed better than 18.

If it was $10 already then $3 would be the "worthwhile" price.

      • Was $18, now $10 is great, I'm not complaining but why are they doing this now, why not $8, what will happen to the loyalty $10 of the week movies and $11 BUPA is all useless now. This change is HUGE. Don't get me wrong I love a good priced movie, but Whyyyyy

  • Its also $10 standard tickets & $20 Gold class at west lakes (SA) has been for at least a month or 2

    • +3

"Price listed does not include admin fee. $1.50 including GST admin fee will be applied to every ticket purchased online."

  • Love reading cinema coz they have crying rooms… wondering if this price also for the crying room?

  • should mention the $1.50 admin fee when booking online at least? since most people buy tickets online (assume it has the seating like events)

    • +2

You can override the booking fee if you pay over the phone

      • Thanks, edited!

      • So you just call to book and pay? I called Rhodes and they said phone bookings were only for Gold sessions. :-S

        • I've been doing it at the Epping one for normal tickets, not too sure sorry buddy!

  • Oh wow nice I wonder if other cinemas will follow and get this too. Other as in not reading hehe lol. My (now) shitty local only does it on Tuesdays still but the other days it is a rip I feel especially for the quality. Can't blame them though hardly anyone goes. Cold town no heaters cold popcorn… Better to just hop on a train and travel further east.

  • Tickets are always $10 at my local Readings.

  • Tickets are $8.50 for my Reading on the Goldie and there is also another nearby cinema which does $5 tickets, all with no seating restrictions! It is unfair that there is such a large price difference between locations.

  • Is this going to be an ongoing thing? This is phenomenal.

  • I guess I'm blessed that paying $8 for a movie ticket on the Gold Coast is the norm…and Gold Class is $20. I'm going to hate it when I move.

  • Reading Elizabeth SA has been $10 for around 6 months now. They have had a lot more of my money since.

    • Me too. It makes so much more sense and no doubt brings in a lot of business for them.

The other Reading in SA at West Lakes is also $10 for all sessions.
