[iOS] FREE Speedafari (Was $2.99)

1040

Another 'Productivity' App for iOS that blocks unnecessary parts of websites from loading. By removing part of the experience (ads, tracking scripts, external fonts, videos, etc.), you gain speed, battery, and data.

This App was USD$9.99 at the start of this month!

'Speedafari Reduces Web Pages on iOS to Their Bare Bones to Speed Up Browsing'

"Speedafari is a blocker that strips away everything it can so you can still load pages even when your connection is crap." - Thorin Klosowski, Lifehacker.com

One of the commenters I agreed with!

"Great if you are in a boring meeting and dont want coworkers/boss to look over your shoulder to see you're just browsing the web on your phone. Plain text looks more like work than websites with flashy graphics and ads."

Thanks OP. App works quiet well.

  • not compatible with this iPad

Damnit Apple! Back to Safari's Reader mode for me.

Only works with 64 bit devices, like every other ad blcoker that uses safaris content blocking feature.

      • Makes sense though, right? 🤔

thanks, seems to work quite well

  • Not compatible with iphone 5c

    • Compatible with the 5s+, like every other content blocker.

(ads, tracking scripts, external fonts, videos, etc.)

Pretty much an ad blocker right? Plenty of other free and paid apps that do this.

I always grab these blockers and test them out to see which suits.

I've found Cheerio to be good for me. Adblock seems to be not bad either.

    Hope this helps.

I'll give this app a go. Thanks.

  • Thanks was using Crystal, but have to say from the testing just now this is faster and heaps of control,
Low setting seems just as effective as crystal but faster. Medium barely used any data. High essentially text only
So quick to disable and chand modes

There needs to be one for Google Chrome because it's just better than Safari

    • Need one for MS Edge too when the extensions come out of beta, it walks all over Chrome.

    NO IAPs

    It does have in-app purchases!

  • This is the future of the internet!

  • What IAP does it have? I couldn't see anything in app.

Open the app and tap the 'Tip Jar'. It's really more of an optional donation to the developer but it's an in-app purchase none the less.

an optional donation to the developer

Your calling that an 'IAP' - as in, you need it to unlock greater speed savings or more features? Haha, No.
For clarity's sake ill edit post details but damn thats pedantic.

IAP means in-app purchase. It is an optional purchase inside the app. It's not like other apps where you have to pay to unlock more features though. Nice edit.
