Upvotes just for the Reach reference…

Also, very cheap for a great series of games!

  • +9

So much for the "Common sense" fools who said this would never get below $12….

This is a big win for you bro, kudos…you're livin' the dream! ;)

    • +6

Well true, but do people really feel "screwed over" after paying $15 for 4 great games?

      • Those who paid $15 months ago are winners. I got it at like $60 on disc from ebgames 18months ago.

  • Still haven't bought. I keep thinking it's going to be free with Gold if these price drops are any indication. Then again, i doubt Microsoft will want to give this away for nothing and this might just be CD Keys who have too many copies and aren't selling them fast enough. Major conundrums!

    • +2

Much like the recent AC specials, quite possibly it's due to a boatload of unsold console bundles.

I honestly don't think this will go to GwG, but only the oracle GWH will know for sure! ;)

      • I can't see why it wouldn't…other flagship releases have including Gears of War and Halo titles. I think putting it up either to boost subscriptions during a holiday season or interest before a major Halo release would make a lot of sense, and after two years I can't see the title selling all that many copies on any given day.

        • +1

Since it's a pack of more than a single title, that's why I don't reckon it'll go Gold, but who knows…it would certainly be a boon for Gold subscribers who don't already have it.

Can you think of any other multi-game compilation titles released on GwG?

        • @StewBalls: Wouldn't it be better to get a free game that's worth more than $10?? ie. pretty much any other game

        • @apoptygma: Well, nobody could deny that there's something to be said for that line of reasoning as well.

That said, the low price doesn't diminish this title or the value for money it represents…it's a damn good pack of games at any price!

        • +2

@StewBalls: "Can you think of any other multi-game compilation titles released on GwG?"

I can't think of too many titles that resemble Halo Master Chief collection. Most of the multi game releases are bundles where each item is listed or downloaded as its own title, where this is still a single release. Some of those 'packs' you have to buy as a bundle, but MS could still offer one game from the release for individual sale as technically each component is a separate item that has its own item on the Xbox dashboard. They'd have to do development to split the MCC up.

The games aren't all available individually either as far as I'm aware. Isn't the MCC the only way to get Halo 2 digitally (and in particular the remastered edition).

      • +2

The title is cheap at the moment due to unused tokens in bundles that have been retired.

        The Oracle has spoken.

and still a better 'game' than halo 5

Paid $100 at launch. MP was broken for a year. Bad.

    • -3

It was broken for about three months. Still bad - but not that bad.

      • +1

As someone who bought an Xbox one for this game, it was broken long enough that by the time they fixed it, no one was playing it (in Australia, at least) and therefore I could never find a game and it did not let you choose regions. I think I successfully played it all of 3 times.

The multiplayer was a huge disappointment.

The single player is (profanity) amazing though and more than worth the $12 - there's 4 AAA games in there.

        • -1

Not sure why I'm being negged. I was just correcting the "broken for a year" comment. It was broken for about three months. Though three months was still long enough to kill the MP, like you say. Really sad.

        • @johnno07: You're being nagged because you're outright lying. The multiplayer was never fixed. You could never find a game, at one month, three months, six months, or a year after launch. It never worked.

        • +1

          @MrMcHairyHead:
I'm outright lying? This was my actual experience with the game. What do I gain here for lying? I was extremely disappointed with the game's release. I don't work for 343, or gain any kickbacks from this $9 sale.

You could never find a game, at one month, three months, six months, or a year after launch. It never worked.

Saying "IT NEVER WORKED" is "outright lying" - as I was able to, with little issues, play matchmaking and online co-op after a few months of them stuffing around.

      • It was completely broken for at least a year. After that, I gave up trying to play it. I suspect it's still non operational.

What I do need is cheap EA Access code

    • This

Just search OzB, IIRC sub-$40/yr at quite a few places.

    • +1

Jb have a 12 month subscription for $40, which is their regular price.

  • +5

I picked this up when I got my Xbone for 13 a month or so back. Don't really regret losing the whole 4 bucks or so.

Because the games look and play great on Xbone and are a god send for people like me who've never actually played a full Halo campaign before and want to know what they're missing out on.

For this price, holy shit is it a good deal.

    • +4

If you haven't played it already, it's worth grabbing ODST as DLC for $6.65; it's a really beautifully done addition to the series! :)

    • Me too. First Xbox. First game. Lots of fun.

  • I paid $35 for my copy a long time ago and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Halo is worth much more than loose change!

  • I am so keen to buy one of these but just scared to download this much data, might take few days :/

Also, saw destiny for $10 in Target yesterday. Someone might be interested

  • Bought this twice.
For $25 in EB when I bought my XBOne in the Target Clearance, then again for $13 from CD Keys a couple weeks ago so I could skip using the disc.
$38 for 3 awesome games I have never played before. Don't regret a cent of it!
Anyone who picks up an ALDI refurb XBOne and this for under $10 have pretty much won life.

    • I purchased this a week or so ago - will download it in the next day or so. I haven't played a Halo game since the first one on the original Xbox - was an incredible moment experiencing surround sound in gaming for the first time.

Noting I'm coming back to the franchise after a very long hiatus, which do you all recommend I experience first?

I know one might say, play them in order but that's not always the case - particularly given the chance that I'll have time to play them each in their entirety is slim given I have about 30-40 PS3, WiiU and 3DS games in my backlog (and a growing number of XB1 games too…)!

  • Just waiting for them to release it for windows…

  • It will attain its real HALO once dropped to FREE!!

  • Merged from Halo: The Master Chief Collection (Xbox One, download) - $9.66 AUD (Facebook Like for $9.18) @ CD Keys

      Halo: The Master Cheap collection

    • Might be time to grab this. Been putting it off for ages.

The size is putting off a bit. I might get to play early September.

    • +1

If you own an Xbox One & don't buy this game, I'm going to come to your house & give you a nipple-cripple…seriously, this is the best deal in console gaming!!! :)

      • +1

I changed my gamertag midway through playing Halo 2 so you may as well just get it over and done with 😇😴

    • I keep forgetting I bought this when it was $12. We're spoilt for choice this when it comes to cheap/free games these days. I spent more money on videogames 15 years ago in high school than I do now, but have way more games in my library. It's awesome.

    • "Coupon code "37924BRZLD" is not valid".

Tried different email addresses, and keep getting the same code. :(

You have to be logged into CDKeys account.

        • Ahhh…
Couldn't be bothered signing up. I guess I'll just have to wear the 48c hit.
Yes, I know it goes against all that is the Ozbargain way. lol.

    • +1

Does anyone not have this yet? lol

It's been so cheap for so long, those who haven't pulled the trigger must be very very frugal and patient (or really not want the game)

      • …or they're really cruisin' for a purple-nurple! ;)

  • Will buy when it goes down to 5 bucks

  • +1

    So ashamed, just bought it.
