      • Thanks for your reply, I got a reply from TSD they were very helpful, all that was missing was the 's' in 'https://'. But when you type out URLs there are bound to be mistakes!
This simple typo in the instructions made it rather difficult to sort our mobiles out.
Current speeds 0.7Mbps down 0.7Mbps up. Not fast by any stretch, but handy having no data restrictions.

        • Ah, makes sense then why it wasn't working! yeah it's not really the the type of speed I was hoping for considering they made claims of an average of 1.5-3mbps on 3G.. Should be faster on 4G :/

Should be enough to get us out of trouble though

  • These responses are making me really uneasy about our holiday that is coming up on the 12th of September. I bought three of them, being able to access google maps and translating apps etc is extremely important to me. It's also really concerning that the rep is not even responding. Eugh.

    • I have the same concern. Very poor customer support from the rep. I've sent messages thru the TSD website over the last two weeks and I received no response.

      • Yeah, I even checked previous threads and there was a guy who said something similar, all the rep did was say something like "thats very unusual blah blah contact customer service!" the guy complained that they didn't receive a response.. rep said "really? they should be very quick! try again".. all comments with negative reviews were just told "contact customer service" and i'm not saying they didn't get help eventually.. but not one person responded saying that their issues were solved :(

I just came back from japan this morning and I haven't received any followups after the initial "can I confirm your settings email"

I would suggest you guys to have a backup plan ready. I was lucky enough to tether off my japanese friends/hotel wifi for the rest of the trip.

I may attempt the money back guarantee, but I doubt I'll have much luck.

        • @sukite:

I will probably go with b-mobile if this one doesn't work as I know I can have it set up over there and reviews are great. The only issue is 1gb limit per 3 days. I checked more threads recently and there seems to have been quite a few good reviews for this specific company/sim as well, so hopefully this isn't normal for them. :/ it's the lack of response that has be concerned, especially when some people say they received very fast service and others had no contact from them in weeks.

        • @Lunawinter: sorry about the delay in responses. We actually just landed back from Japan ourselves from a trip. We tested out the new batch of sims there.

Overall the sim worked very well, page load speed, google maps and the App Store worked very fast - streaming videos off YouTube though was slower than all other browsing - we are trying to work out why this is!

We are here to help anyone out, the more relevant information in regard to transaction and issues you're having the faster we can help out.

Thanks guys! Japan is amazing atm with the festivals btw.

          @TravelSIMSDirect:

Thanks for the reply! hope you enjoyed your trip,

fingers crossed that our experience is as good as yours :)

    • I think it should be okay for Google maps and Google translate.. It won't be great, but it should work (in Tokyo anyway.. not sure about other areas as can only talk from experience).

The issue for me was the upload speed. I needed to be able to share photos easily and the speed was frustrating.

      • Yeah I saw the image from the speedtest.. shocking. It will be annoying but if I have the same issues then I do have free wifi in all my hotels so I can hopefully do all my photo uploading when we head back for the night.

  • Hey guys,

I purchased the 15 days unlimited sim from TSD back in May and still have not received the sim.
I've emailed their support line who advised that the package has already been posted twice but cannot provide any proof of tracking.
4 emails later, I'm now no longer getting any responses from them. I just want to know, anyone else having delivery issues?
Reading the comments above, I'm already concerned about connection issues let along even getting my sim.

    • Hey mate,

As most of our customers are growing to know, Australia Post is becoming more and more unreliable with regular post and express post. So much so that we are in the process of eliminating regular post and having registered post as a requirement. The extra cost is something that some will not like but it will stop instances like yours.

From what I understand a (what we hope) final sim is heading your way now. Just bare in mind, recent unreliable shipping shouldn't cast too much doubt on the (literally)thousands of sims we have sold to OzB'ers without an issue.

      Thanks.

      • Thanks for your reply.
This still does not resolve my issue of not getting my item nor why you have stopped replying to my emails. Express post comes with tracking so there shouldn't be any issues with providing tracking. My next step is to talk to my credit card company to reverse the charge as none of my messages for resolution have been answered.

  • Are there any offers for Japan sims please??

  • Dear travel SIMS,
I purchased on 31 August 2016, and yet to receive the package till today.
Today is the 12 September. I tried to contact through your webpage, failed. Tried to contact through email, failed.
How am I getting my refund?
You seem not to be active at all after September. Have you turn a bust?

    Customer service respond is terrible.

    • Hey there,

I just checked all emails and everything is up to date (it may be an IT issue - but I hope not).

Not sure what has happened with your contact attempts but please PM us here with your order details or msg on facebook and we will do everything we need to quickly.

      Thanks.
