Haha I am eating ancient grains right now! Yes I particularly like that flavour!
In that case, I will have to get a pack and try!
They look like soya crisps, I was hesitant at first, thinking there was no "mix" to it. Just one flavour. But it can still be good, I guess :-)They are epic!!!
I agree! Although you do get less per pack (140g vs 200g for the regular mix), they're quite tasty and are definitely worth trying :)
Hahaha yes, my brain was consciously against the choice my mouth made
You're right, the new bigger size is 200g in the original variety(s). The new varieties are 140g and 150g. All sizes were $2.50.
The new larger pack I purchased was a 200g pack. That was for the original mix.
has anyone tried the new spicy ones?
Strange, my search results for "bhuja" above did not show any spicy variety. I also cannot find it with variations like "bhuja spicy". Is that one not sold online?
The original mix is probably considered the 'spicy' one, especially compared to the cracker mix. I've only tried these two, and enjoyed both. Yum! http://majans.com/products/world/bhuja-snacks/
there is a post on the bhuja facebook page saying a new hot mix will be available at coles from september 12
Thanks, will be looking out - but hoping that even though advertised as hot/spicy, they are in fact moderate hot, but as spicy as they like, since I have had the privilege of tasting hot by local Asian standards. Phew! :-)
A pity "hot" and "spicy" is always mixed up! The more spices (like cummin, tumeric etc) the yummier, but hot is chilli. Except that labeling in supermarket does not discern between them!
September? It was June recently…
Yep, got a couple on Friday. Not as cheap as when Coles had them on sale.
Yes, they were half-priced, weren't they?
Yeah, something like @$1,83
But the bigger packets are commonly 50% off?
Is it really that common? That would be good :-)
I think I am hooked (at least on the Mixed Cracker one).Ancient grains has a good taste.
About two weeks ago, I specifically went to an Indian Grocery, hoping that I could get Bhuja in bulk cheaper. I wanted not-so-hot, but can be as spicy, was recommended one. It was 350g for $4.50. All bhuja sold in this shop was as expensive. Turned out buying from ColesWorth on sale was cheaper.
But boy, that was good and genuine stuff, straight from India - so yummy! The mix/flavor was so delicate and yet crunchy. Except that at that price, one can only indulge once and while. Two helpings and they were gone.
If anyone here can recommend any good bhuja brands from Indian/Asian Grocery, will appreciate very much. Especially if price is reasonable. But even if a bit expensive, for indulgence once a while :-)
The Original and the Mix Cracker varieties are 200g, and still $2.50. Haven't tried all varieties but love the Mix Cracker ones. Has anyone tried the Ancient Grains before? Any good? Thanks.
