Not sure if this is fully supported by the Optus 4G network. If it is, let me know as I will be buying one.

This deal is cheaper than the previous one which was $444AUD

Mod: Thanks to addison010 coupon code CCNSMZDMQ316 for extra US $30 off (applies at checkout). Edit: However it appears that the coupon gets an error at PayPal when you login for Aus users (region restricted) and the coupon will only apply for China or Hong Kong eBay users.

    ok

  • I forgot BlackBerry even existed.

You can't update the software unless you have an AT&T sim.

    • Even if it is unlocked you need an AT&T sim?

      • From my research from the last deal yes you need an active at&t sim.

    • Blackberry are working on a solution to update these AT&T Privs without an AT&T sim.

Tempted to get one, been wanting one for a while even though I know it's not the best phone. Spewing I just used my $50 eBay voucher the other day.

  • Just bought one the other day, working fine so far on Optus 4G network.

    • how is the battery life for a medium use - email, ozbargaining and pokemon-ing?

      • +1

It's good, especially after the marshmallow update with doze it uses basically no battery on standby - on lollipop it was okay. I get through a 16-18 hour day with moderate use email/browsing etc without needing to charge, not a regular Pokemon Go user but I've used it on my Priv and it ran very well.

        • according to jbnz's comment, you can't update without an AT&T sim, how did you manage to update it to Marshmallow?

        • @designate:

          Sorry I don't have this STV100-1 AT&T model, I got a STV100-3 from T-Dimension which is unlocked. Discussion

        • @hamza23:

According to some crackberry forum posts, the autoloaders don't work, so looks like it's stuck on Lollipop =\

          @designate:

Ah I see, so you'd need to wait until Blackberry come up with a solution as yippy stated to update.

Users in the beta program can update to marshmallow on AT&T device without AT&T sim for about a month, so certainly seems possible.

        • @hamza23:

I think I will hold off then. too much effort. Shame it's a good price for it too
          thanks for the info :)

          @designate:

Looks like an autoloader was released this morning after AT&T released marshmallow, if you are game doing that type of thing.

Oh wow, thanks for the update! :D

  • You know what I hate about this device?

    The name.

According to willmyphonework this device supports all AU bands.

    • I thought it was missing the 700MHz for Telstra

      • Actually you know what? You're correct, I screwed up.

        Does not support all bands.

      • This is the bands it says on the ebay ad. LTE 700/800/850/900/1700/1800/1900/2100/2600

        • that 700 is B17 which is different to the B28 700MHz used by Telstra. It does however have B5 850MHz which is great for Vodafone

  • Whatberry?

  • Good phone but this deal is really for Chinese customer

  • Can this run Android?

    • +1

It can only run Android :p

This is an Android phone made by Blackberry, not to be confused with previous Blackberry phones that ran their own Blackberry OS.

  • -1

if making an android phone isn't admitting defeat (after millions were invested in their own OS), I don't know what is. It's quite clear to me they are only interested in becoming a software-only company. People who think Blackberry is 'secure' or 'private' with this model (or any other in their line-up) are silly sheeple.

  • Damn. Tried CCNSMZDMQ316 with a SG PayPal account and still doesn't work.

  • For those who purchased this AT&T Priv, some good news if you weren't able to update it: If you purchased an unlocked AT&T Priv your updates will now come directly from BlackBerry
