Warning: Woolworths Mobile Topup

Hi Guys.

Just a warning to anyone with a Woolworths Mobile account who doesn't know this already:

If you top up your account with a new recharge plan (i.e. $30 for 1000min & 3GB Data), it will DELETE your existing topup.
In other words, if your current recharge plan has NOT EXPIRED, then DO NOT topup, or you will lose all your existing data and voice.

Sadly, I learnt this the hard way. It turns out it does show this information in the FAQ's, but unless you decide to read them before topping up, the website (at this stage) will not provide a warning.

Hope I can at least save one person the annoyance of finding this out the hard way :)

  • Isn't that how all prepaid phone recharges work? It's not exclusive to Woolworths Mobile that's for sure

    • Telstra pre-paid have "Roll-over" saving your previous credit remaining i.e data/calls etc (for max of 1 month)

    Really? I never had that issue on Amaysim! If that is the case, it's messed up … definitely not how it works elsewhere in the world. Oh well, hopefully other people who didn't know now know :)

      woolworths is only $27 for 30 days, unlimited calls & texts, on the Telstra network. That's why I'm moving over to them

    Wtf that is terrible? I spent my cold hard dollar on my SIM.
