The 30% off Winedirect sale finishes tonight and has been popular! Other users have posted some good tips but they missed one! The Zonte's Footstep Avalon Tree Cabernet 2012. The 2013 sold out quickly, probably due to more awards, but the 2012 is still available and, after tasting, I can confirm it's a great bargain Cabernet. Got 91 points from Huon Hooke and James Halliday. Well worth considering adding to your "pick n mix" dozen.
Others that are still available that I can comment on after tasting (prices after discount):
2014 Hand Crafted by Geoff Hardy Lagrein - Interesting drop with more punch than expected, but faded by second day - $12.60
2013 Richard Hamilton Colton's GSM - Was disappointed in this. Needs more time - $10.50
And two I haven't tasted this year's vintage of yet (ask me in a week or two!):
2014 Zonte's Footstep Lake Doctor Shiraz - $12.60 … in previous vintages I enjoyed this more than the Zonte's Chocolate Factory Shiraz, despite all the bling/award differences.
2014 Leconfield Cabernet Sauvignon - $21.00 … regularly scores very highly and $21 is a great price
