  • OK guys, i need a new router and the D9 is looking good for this price but i have been burnt with the D7 (webGUI was buggy as balls and QoS worked when it felt like it)

does the C9 share these traits ?

i would like to stay away from TP-LINK if i can, so any other brand deals are welcomed

    • +1

I currently use a C7 and for reliability I can't fault it, however I do agree about the poor quality of the webGUI. From what I've read these, work quite well with the DD-WRT firmware installed, though I personally haven't tried. As for other brands, my personal favorite would be anything by ASUS, though it has been some time since I used one full time.

      • if i can flash the C9's i might just do that. Thanks for all the info!

I too also wanted the asus ac68u but didn't get around to buying it while i was on sale… unless some awesome ozbargainer has a deal going for that :)

    • Get a Asus DSL-AC68U if you are after a modem or a Asus RT-AC88U if you are actually after a router.

      • yeah i got a little distracted when writing my comment.

I am only after a router!

I bought a D9 6 months ago. I only use it as an access point because the QoS is really bad. My 5-year-old DreyTek router performs much better than that.

I rather swap it for something else. Even swap it with C9+top up.

      • see this is what worries me… we'll see what happens

    • D9 is the bomb! The range on this device is awesome and it solved all my previous dramas with my fibre connection.

Well worth the investment I'd say..

Bought mine with a pricebeat at OW about a year ago now and haven't looked back!

  • TP-LINK TL-PA8010P Kit 1200Mbps Powerline Kit Adaptor Twin Pack With Power Pass Through - $106(msy.com.au)

These are ethernet only and not wireless, how can i use this along with extender to make it wireless connection in hard to reach places?

    • connect to your 2nd router's wan port

      • Can i still maintain same SSID ?

        • I believe you can setup the same SSID, try using different channel, it will help. Just need to note you may experience an short disconnection when switching between the two routers. But unless you always use your network devices on the move, I doubt it is noticeable.

  • +1 for the TL-PA8010P 1200Mbps Powerline Kit
