Can it charge Nexus 6p device at full rate?

    • +4

      Nope.

      • well no point getting this if it does support 6p

  • Has it finally come?!

    EDIT:

Is the C-port 3A? Would be useless if not …

    • Says 2.0A above… Maybe that's just the Type A port.

      • +1

It can only output on the A port, so 2.0A is it. Also if you're charging from a 5X/6P charger then it'll only charge at 5V/2A as well.

  • can it charge lg g4 and s6 at full rate?

    • I have a g4 and this, it fully chrag so in about am hour? Idk if that's good or not.

  • When does the deal expire OP?

    • +1

      Until sold out.

        Hi Rep

I just bought one but I think this is not the QC2.0 version?

Can I get a refund please? The contact form doesn't work on your website, it keeps sending me back to Login.

Where does it say this is the QC2.0 version? Why do you think you're entitled to a refund for buyers remorse?

        • @Maverick-au: The title of the post says it's a "quick charger" and seeing how the OzB community always snap up a good bargain quickly I jumped into the deal ASAP thinking it supports quick charging. Obviously I was wrong and should have done my due diligence before purchasing but I'm sure everybody would have bought a wrong product at one point in their lives and would like to change/refund before the item gets shipped? I'm perfectly entitled to a refund at this stage IMO. If only the website contact form actually worked.

This is your loss, everyone has purchased something without checking all the specs and have had to live with it, give it away or sell it.

I'm perfectly entitled to a refund at this stage IMO.

Absolutely not, even if the product was sold by an Australian based company they do not have to refund for a change of mind.

I 100% agree. Title is misleading as quickcharge usually refers to QC2.0. Not sure why youre getting negged as you are absolutely correct. This is just another normal charger, theres no need to put misleading bs fancy marketing names like Volt-Q, Retina, Quantum Display, Trilluminous, Giga X Plus 5000 etc.

        • +3

@Orpheus: thanks mate - the OzB crowd can be pretty tough at times, hence I avoid commenting here unless necessary. Nevertheless I got my refund, thanks to monty.melb. Will jump on the next deal for sure.

        • +3

@Maverick-au: You are wrong. This title is misleading and they are taking advantage by using an easily misleading name. The first few comments have already got people confused and asking how fast this charges.

@Maverick-au: You are wrong. This title is misleading and they are taking advantage by using an easily misleading name. The first few comments have already got people confused and asking how fast this charges.

          The specs speak for themselves.

"Smart mobile power bidirectional output to charge fast and secure with 18W maximum power.
          Input: 5.0V / 2.0A
          Output: 5.0V / 2.0A"

Title is misleading as quickcharge usually refers to QC2.0.

Actually you are being misleading here because it clearly was worded as "Quick Charger". Is this a fast or quick charger? Yes, it charges at up to 2A. You have mistaken it for the term Quick Charge (followed by a version number like 3.0). It's hardly the posters fault that people have no idea what they are buying or know anything about technology. There was no mention of QC2.0, Quick Charge 2.0 or anything else.

The term "quickcharge" as you claim usually refers to QC2.0 is utter bollocks, the only way that Quick Charge should be represented is as QCx.x or as Quick Charge x.x. You cannot make up your own terms because you don't understand the technology when there are properly defined ways to represent a product.

        • +3

@Maverick-au: You would make a great sales rep. Not everybody has a comprehensive technical understanding of every consumer product, and especially with a more niche product like chargers. With past power bank chargers nobody put in ‘quick charger’ in the title, but now with Quick Chargers starting to be more common, sales reps can put it in the title and nab a few sales from unsupecting buyers. If someone bought a PS4 and complained and wanted a refund because it doesnt play XBox games, then i would agree they are an idiot and its not the stores fault at all, but this isnt anything like that as the name quick charger and quick charger 2.0 are so similar. Also look in the product page and specification, it does not say Quick Charger anywhere. Theyve just slapped it on the title for no reason and its manipulative and deceptive.

          @Orpheus:

Not everybody has a comprehensive technical understanding of every consumer product, and especially with a more niche product like chargers

They shouldn't complain in that case if they don't get what they thought they were. It's a $30 product that still charges.

but this isnt anything like that as the name quick charger and quick charger 2.0 are so similar.

Actually you have done it again, Quick Charger and Quick Charge X.X are totally different things. If you want a Quick Charge X.X charger you will be wanting to check the version number.

Also look in the product page and specification, it does not say Quick Charger anywhere.

I've already said that, once again there is no manipulation or deceptive behaviour as you claim.

Theyve just slapped it on the title for no reason and its manipulative and deceptive.

Is this a quick charger? YES it charges at 2A so it meets the definition of a quick charger. Not that hard to understand.

        • +1

@chanraymond and @Orpheus are correct, and consumer laws state "products must match descriptions made by the salesperson, on packaging and labels, and in promotions or advertising"

@Maverick-au the stance you need to defend doesn't follow through well at all. If you are unable to help someone, at least avoid hurting them.

        • +1

@chanraymond: I think for the same price, the regular 20,000mAh is better value that the 10,000mAh 18W max type-C pro. The shorter charging time and slim size is good but how can justify double the price of the regular 10,000mAh, right?

    Huh?

  • +3

This price is equivalent to the RRP from Xiaomi (150rmb~30aud). Considering import and delivery is included it is a very very good price.

  • can it charge iphone and ipad?

    • +2

      Lol are you serious?

      • bought a power bank before but it will only charge iphone but no ipad.. just wanna make sure

        • +1

The original iPad charger is 5V/2A, so basically yes, this will charge your iPad. I have an older version of Xiaomi powerbank (USB 2.0 only) and it can.

  • +1

    What about the warranty?

    • +4

same as any other import from china i guess; at your own risk.

  • Awesome

    Thanks for the deal Monty!

Guys, any chance for some deals on tronsmart 54w chargers? :) :) :)

  • Can you confirm if this is two way? I have one of these and the type-c port seems to be for charging the powerbank only.

    • Yes this is definately a two way.

      • Can you explain the functionality? A lot of people have this model and apparently the battery has been known to draw form other devices via the usb-c port.

      • +2

Yeah this is wrong. The "two way" is in reference to the quick charging. It can be charged, and charge devices, at quick charge rates. the USB-C port is definitely input only.

        • +1

You are right type c is input only but two way quick charging for powerbank and device.

        • +2

@monty.melb: Description is very misleading then

Type-C USB charge and discharge, USB Type-C adapter can charge the phone also supports Type-C charger for mobile power charging directly.

        • @carkell: Yup. Something to take note of if you are buying to charge from the usb-c port.

        • @carkell: You can blame Xiaomi for that mistake since their product page says it as well ;)

  • I am new to such devices. Could you explain if I can quick charge a Galaxy S6 or Galaxy Note 5 with this device?

    Thanks!

    • Yes, you can use it to quick charge a Galaxy S6 or Galaxy Note 5.

    • +1

No, it charges at the standard 5.0V 2.0A that you expect from most powerbanks, not qc 2.0 that those two devices are capable of.

  • Can I buy this, use the Type-C connector to charge the powerbank and then use a normal USB-microUSB cable to charge my phone which uses a micro USB port?

    • Yes. The Type C is to charge the powerbank. The Type A (normal usb) is the output to charge a separate device of your choosing.

  • Hi folks, can this charge the Macbook 12? It only has a USB C in/out port to charge the laptop.
If so much will it charge? Ie - 50% battery or full charge?
    Thanks.

    • +2

It will only charge at the 5V/2A rate. 10W.

So roughly at a third of the rate of the 29W wall charger.

And roughly 4 hours to slowly empty this power bank.

The new MacBook 12 has a 41.4 Wh battery. You might get 36 Wh out of this battery. Around 85%-90% of a full charge.

That being said, almost any 5V USB battery pack should work the same, and most do 2.4A for iPads… But most type a to type c cables will only do 2.0A.

      • Appreciate your response… so the answer is yes it will charge it up!

I think i'm going to buy.

      • That sounds like a great way to destroy your power bank and although less likely, your laptop. I suggest you read up more on voltage and amps, watt doesnt mean much.

  • Does this mean you can output on both the type c port and the type a port at the same time?

    • +2

No because it can't output on the C port at all.

Any chance on another deal on the 20000mah one?

    • +1

      Which one Xiaomi or Romoss?

      • +1

        I vote Xiaomi

      • The xiaomi one

        • +3

Just check with the sales department. They don't have enough stick for the 20000mAh. As soon as they have more on stock I will post the deal.

  • I found this on another website… is there any difference between this deal and the one in the link? I want a QC2.0 powerbank and it seems this one doesnt have it?

    http://www.geekbuying.com/item/Original-Xiaomi-Mi-Pro-Qualco…

  • if you wish to buy from aussie seller, they doing sale: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Xiaomi-10000mAh-PRO-Mi-Power-…

  • An I missing something? I think OP must've got confused with this qc business but I am fairly confident that this will support qc. If you zoom into the details the output details 12V,9V,and 5V which suggest qc to me. I have seen this grey model on yt review which confirm qc capabilities. In any case I guess I shall wait and find out. Will definitely be disappointed if this does not support qc

  • How does this charge? Can you plug it into the wall or standard USB, or can you charge it up by USB Type-C only?

  • im confused reading all the comments…

  • Has anyone received theirs?

    • No still waiting :( tracking says it's arrived in Sydney though

      • same, still waiting :(

tracking doesn't even tell me which Country it's in…

        • +1

Got mine today, disappointing as its meant to be 2 way and it doesn't charge a macbook 12… when you plug it in it used the macbook power to re-charge the power bank up

        • @ezza:

          Damn.

  • I'm still waiting for mine :(

How long does it usually take for customs to clear it here in Australia?
