Noticed the Macro range of flavoured tofu eg Chinese Honey Soy has 80c Woolworths Rewards Earn brings it to $3.19. Tastes like the Soyco brand and at this price about $1 cheaper.

Various other Macro products have various earn amounts (and not across the whole Macro range) - but might be useful to some.

  • Easy for these items to have Woolworths dollars on them. They don't need to convince the suppliers to foot the bill. Macro is a Woolworths brand.

    • Yep - and they're probably hoping to drive the other brands out.

The firm tofu they sell isnt firm at all, fries horribly, doesnt compress right either, steams okay, but comes out like silken. The marinated tofu is pretty yummy though.

    • Don't think tried their plain variety - cheaper to buy from Asian shop, but they don't have flavoured ones like this.

Ps what compressing are u doing?

Yeah usually go for the asian store ones, but these were reduced so grabbed a couple(learnt my lesson now haha).
Compress by wrapping in cloth a plate on top underneath then a giant mortar n pestle on top for weight. Depending on what I'm doing with it ill then freeze it for a bit. This one just fell apart under the weight of the mortar, persisted with lighter cans, got some moisture out, but it just, I don't know, didnt come up like it usually does shrug

I never trust firm tofu sold in a hard tub. If it's firm it should survive with a simple wrap and let's you gauge just how firm it is.

    • Hang on, what are you doing eating tofu in the first place?
