Not as good as the 50% off deal last November, but 200g of tea in a pretty tin box for $30 is still a decent deal.

Available in-stores from Tuesday 28th June.

2-Packs for $30. 2x100g of tea in a pretty tin case. I'd personally recommend the French Earl Grey and Melbourne Breakfast.

Thanks for posting but I confess ignorance about how 200g of tea for $30 represents good value.

I understand where you're coming from. Twinings tea bags are $7 for a box of 80 bags at Woolies at the moment, which is about half the price/cup.

I used to buy cheap tea too, but recently I switched to T2 loose leaves and I would never go back. I find the taste and quality of the tea so much more pleasant. Make sure you follow the instructions. Dont just chuck the teas in boiling water, because then you might as well buy Twinings teabags. For green tea, 90 degrees, for 90 seconds gives you a really fragrant tea. Any longer and you lose the flavour. (trust me, big difference between 90 seconds and 120 seconds)
Also, their "suggested" serving sizes are rather generous. I usually put approx 2g (1 teaspoon) of tea leaves in my mug, and I usually get 2 cups of tea out of it.

It's sort of like, why would you buy pizza at the restaurant as opposed to Dominos. (Probably not a great comparison, because I know Ozbargain loves their Dominoes, but you get my point.)

tl;dr - It tastes better; Remember to follow the instructions.

Buying the 250gm packs are still better value.

I go in occasionally for sampling their tea but honestly don't like the fancy ones with petals and other stuff in. I prefer basic tea and I can get good loose basic tea leaves from other places cheaper. Their matcha is like $25 for a small small tin. I got mine from a shop specialising in Japanese food for a lot less. IMO everything in t2 is not good value (their teapots and cups as well) but it's got the fancy vibe to it that makes it good for gift giving.

    • Likewise, I just buy my matcha in bulk at Japanese tea shops.

I can't say I drink much else apart from matcha so, T2 isn't too appealing to me.

  • I switched to T2 years ago after getting some for Chritmas and liking the fresher taste of it. I only have 1 cuppa day anyway and wait for these specials so it is only a small extravagance. It's the little things in life sometimes …

  • I don't drink regular tea but I do drink tissanes. T2 have a really good range of them and you can usually get a couple of cups by reusing the leaves. I bought one of the T2 teamakers and they are a really good way to make tea. There is no mucking around with trying to pour heavy teapots or dealing with the ball infusers. It does look a bit odd when it "pours". If you sign up for membership there are some decent deals to be had. Some of their teas you can get else where, but a lot of the blends I drink can only be got from them.

  • Got it confused with the Beyonwiz T2 Triple Tuner PVRs from $229 for a second!
