[Steam] Learn Japanese to Survive! Hiragana Battle USD $2.79/~AUD $3.67 (from USD $6.99/~AUD $9.21)

Saw this on my Steam front page. Mostly positive reviews. Been trying to learn Japanese for years but never really got myself started despite having various free "learn Japanese" apps on my phones and tablets. Perhaps this will kickstart my learning.

If its just hiragana and it says, you're learning only 46 characters. Kanji has around 2200, and is interesting to learn, especially if you can apply it, or have material you can then practice reading and identifying it.
Study for the JLPT N5 exam to get motivated, watch sazae-san and crayon shin-chan on youtube, and read as much as you can.
Im doing the N5 on July 3rd, and i hope im reading for it after 10 months of study.
    Ganbatte for your learning
EDIT: it has grammar points and vocabulary, so its definitely a good start for beginner.

Shame it's just hiragana. Learnt it in yr8

  • There are a few good hiragana and katakana apps that are free. I don't think you will benefit too much via just hiragana.

    • kotoba is a great app for learning vocabulary associated with the JLPT exams

Obenkyo on Android is free and it's excellent for learning hiragana.

It also tests stroke orders, so you will even learn to write it the proper way.

  • To survive you only need to learn the word "sushi".

    • (in a pauline Hanson tone) Now that's racist werty98! please explain…

  • Get Human Japanese on any device. Nintendo uses it to train their staff and only costs $10!

  • Well you learn more than just the 46 hiragana characters, there's also the gamification of language learning and "As a bonus, you’ll also learn common Japanese words and phrases and important grammar points!"

    Plus, it's only US$2.79! ;)

EDIT: yes the main aim IS to learn (just) Hiragana. This review will help make up your mind if it's worth the US$2.79 (ie the gamification)
