CFL light globes

Hi,

I need about 20 CFL E27 (Edison Screw) light globes for my investment property.

I went to Aldi but they stopped selling them as a permanent item. They were about $2 each.

I would like the 20w ones, can anyone recommend a place that sells them cheap?

$6.49 from Bunnings for Phillips brand

$25 dollars for a pack of 6 from Masters (click and collect, or pay extra for shipping)

This equates to $4.16 per bulb. Good value.

Also around $5 when on sale at Coles

10 -Pack Cheap Chinese brand for $26 (15watt). If you're stingy and don't care about how long they last, get this.

  • Thanks Champ!

Maybe I'll probably get a pack of the cheap eBay ones as they aren't that bright and then some better ones where I need them to be brighter.

I'll probably get these also https://www.bunnings.com.au/brilliant-70w-e27-halogen-globes…

For the toilet/bathroom where it is turned on and off frequently, a halogen globe is also suitable.

  • For that price change them to LEDs? you should be able to find some really cheap…

    • LED globes are pretty pricey aren't they?

I'll only be renting out the place for a year (hopefully less) before knocking it down and building my new house on it.

I'm just replacing the blown bulbs, the old big incandescent globes are blowing if you look at them too hard! lol, only about 30% of the globes in the house are working.

      • Yea they are but you can get the on sale for half price at times. Or Ebay they are cheap depending on what output you want…

Defiantly some thing wrong is there moisture in the house? maybe the fitting are dirty and it is shorting out the globes? Halogens are fragile if you bump them while hot they will blow.

        • The house is relatively dry but is old.

the bulbs are very old, they look like heat lamps (without the heat).

So a few of them failed. I'll replace the whole lot with CFLs, and E27 halogen globes where there are dimmers.
