Its lightning pin connection is compatible with any iPhone up to iPhone 5.

The lightning connector was introduced with the iPhone 5..

  • correct wording probably should be compatible down to iphone 5 not up to

  • Its probably not apple certified so ios will block it unless you run an ancient version. I had that problem with a clock radio bought from kmart on clearance.

Doesnt fit if you have a case.

save your money buying anything with a dock, and get something with bluetooth instead. all smartphones & tablets (and probably music playing devices) have bluetooth, and you don't have to be reminded that you were foolish enough to get something made to fit whatever phone you had at the time when your phone dies and you upgrade and the new phone no longer fits your now crappy useless dock.

I speak from experience. Should you still go ahead and make the stupid purchase, there's a good market for small bluetooth adapters that plug into a 30-pin or lightning dock to give bluetooth to your crappy dock and give it a new life.

I use one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Mpow-Bluetooth-Receiver-Adapter-Sound…

Looking for one with a dock is more about being able to slot your phone in to charge it, rather than fiddling with a cable. However, as others have mentioned, seems like this one is not very good quality, plus doesn't fit if you have a case, so not worth getting anyway.

      • Yep, I get that bit. I have a whole drawer full of docks for old i-devices I no longer own, and 2 great sounding and reasonably expensive hi-fi pieces - that have useless docks that no longer fit my phone.

my recommendations still stands… the effort of fiddling with a cable isn't such a big deal for me - i have 3 charge cables - one at my desk, one by my bed, one in my car. plug it in every night, plug it in when i'm sitting at my desk if it needs charge, plug it in when i'm driving if it needs charge. i want to play audio… i play it through bluetooth wherever it's needed. can charge my ipad at the same locations, and play audio the same way. my wife can play music from her old 30-pin ipad and from her iphone (different model to mine) the same way.

anyway, each to their own. it's your money.

        • As above, not going to be buying this one, but I am still on the lookout for a decent yet cheap bedside clock + iphone dock. Doesn't seem like it should be that hard to accomplish, yet none of them get it right. Closest I've found is one that at least worked well, but there was no buffer for those with cases, so you'd have to pull off the case to use it.

          Oh well, I'll keep looking…

I bought one of these and it failed within a week, Officeworks replaced it and the second one was DOA, went with a refund after that. I'd recommend steering clear

Ok thanks m8 appreciate your feedback

  • I checked these out the other day and decided against it (really wanted something that also had a headphone jack). Glad I didn't given the amount of negative feedback here.
