  • TP-Link are good quality, Please note that this will only connect at a maximum of 150MB. I got the 821N that does up to 300Mb at home and it runs great.

  • For anyone using this how do they find the speed of the unit when connected to their modem/router & transfwring data.

    • Right click or double click the active connection and then view Properties.

Data transfers are measured in megabits, not megabytes. If you want to know how fast the transfer is, you can install an app called Networx. Google it for downloads. Its great for monitoring your net usage as well.

    • If your using Windows, right click on the wireless connection and open up Status.

      Edit: Beaten to it :)

  • The package comes with a CD that monitors the work of the device and connection status!!

  • Ok my bad I should of phrased it better, I had had my morning pick me up when I posted. I dont mean the acutal physical seeing & control of speed. What I meant was does it seem like it takes forever to transfer something from networked computers to each other on this adapter or is the 300Mb unit much of an improvement on the 150Mb unit.

    • 300mb is heaps more improvement if your pulling data off a computer connected by 1gb network. But if other computer is only 100mb lan or wi-fi 150mb or 54mb then you wont see any benefit.

The 300mb version is at umart for around $35

  • Would this work with the WD tv live? Pretty cheap but its not on the WD list.

    • Yes Fred, this will definitely work on WD TV Live.
      Cheers

  • nah wouldn't bother

    get real N 300

    150 is just poor

  • The cheapest you can get for the N version is $30 in mwave but the shipping is quite ex!! They do except pick up if you are in NSW..

  • How does this compare with the wireless adaptor posted on here the other day?

    • I'm not using wireless but a 54mbps connection and its fine and way better than the netgear adapter I had before.

  • I have wireless N router and connect to this TP link but how come still shows 54mbps? I have another usb wifi with abg also shows 54mbps.
The speed with tplink is downgraded to 54mbps because I have another wifi abg? or do I need to activate to make it N connection in TP link? please let me know. thanks.

I also would like to know compare to the $12.90 last week because I bought it as well but not arrive yet.

  • TP-Link brand makes the value increase.

The previous $12.90 ones are OEM product but we've tested it right before we post it up.
Specifications/features for both should be the same except few things that make the value higher:
    1) the brand itself "TP-Link"
    2) 24/7 customer / technical support
    3) Warranty up to 2-3 years
    4) Comes with genuine retail packaging that includes Quick Installation Guide, Installation CD

FYI, 19.90 with 6 shipping is a reasonable price for this piece of adapter.
the 300mb version should be double of this price delivered based on staticice prices

    Cheers

  • Save your money for a proper 300 mbps adaptor.

  • How exactly does this work with WDTV live? I plugged mine in and got nothing. Works fine in the Lappy thought.
