Not to be mean or anything, just purely curious about this technology. Is it simply meaning from now on wireless <> contact less.

Besides, how does my phone/tablet communicate with this if no wire, wifi or Bluetooth required? Infrared? Or is there a mic on this speaker and it replays what comes into the mic?

      • "The sound produced on your phone gets passed into the inducting amplifier and gets reproduced. I am speculating the science here, by the way, but this is how my brain explained it to me."

After reading that I have decided to no longer read anything on OxGadgets / by Sami Mughal.

        • Hahahahaha!

    • I have one from Laser, I believe they're called NFI speaker, you can find more Info from GG. Not really impressive though.

      • Nfc, which is just a way to connect Bluetooth easily. This speaker won't have that.

        • No, not NFC bro, they are called Near Field Interactive speaker, and definitely not Bluetooth.

    Isn't it NFC they're talking about ?

    • I wouldn't think so at the price.

    • This speaker does not have NFC

This is not wireless or inductive. It has a tiny microphone, you line up your speaker on your phone and it amplifies out via the speaker. Can't imagine the sound would be great but reviews are ok and price cheap.

    • Geez, that would sound pretty poor then.

  • My guess is there's an inbuilt mic (of sorts?) that picks up vibes and amplifies them.

Mic is essentially an electrical transformer/inductor - hence "induction technology."

<edit - Spamman just beat me to it.>

      But does it have NFC?

      • wotisNFC?

  • Purchased a similar product to this in Japan a few years ago. I believe it is as someone else said NFI (Near Field Interactive?). It sort of seems like it has a mic, picks up and amplifies as another user also said.

They are a great little speaker if using it for the right purpose. If you want a loud speaker with a lot of bass or a multi room audio setup forget it. If you want to throw some music on while your sitting around a table with friends as background music serves the purpose well.

In saying that there are many bluetooth speakers which are a lot better quality, but also probably come with a price.
