  • But where's the hat?

  • Looks to be old charger (ie no active ventilation), 1.5Ah are as good as worthless (I use mine for an led torch I got in a combo kit and that's it), and the drill itself is "meh".

I have Makita 18v, but their bottom line stuff is really average. I'd sooner just look elsewhere rather than their entry level products. Makes it an expensive light handy man drill is all, been a lot cheaper posted before.

    • I agree the batteries are not great, better going with a 3.0Ah, but as a complete kit this great value for some DIY.

However disagree the drill os "meh," I have a similar Makita 18 volt cordless drill and it is quality, never let me down, it may not be for the tradesman but best in the range compare to other cordless drills at similar cash.

Sort of my point. You have a similar drill, which may or may not be better than this. I have a "similar" drill too (it's green and looks like a drill), but it cost a lot more and is an exceedingly good high power cordless drill. For the money, there's better options than this that have been posted quite a bit is all.

For a good deal, I recommend keeping an eye out for the drill driver and impact driver kits that go up frequently. Impact driver is by far my most used 18v tool, highly recommended.

You can all stop posting drill deals now. I have enough.

    3 batteries, 1 drill/driver, 1 hammer drill, 1 impact driver, 1 multi vibrator tool, 1 reciprocating saw, 1 light.

Too many drill deals!!!! Must stop looking….

    • multi vibrator tool

      I only have this one.

  • How does it compare to the Stanly Drill/Impact Driver combo for $125

  • A little warning on buying brand name powertools from Bunnings (particularly Makita).

Bunnings often gets their own model variations to sell exclusively in their stores. The variations are designed to reduce the cost of the tool, and make comparisons difficult (or misleading). Make sure you check out the model number and all specs before comparing prices.

This still looks like it good be quite a good deal given the amount of the discount, this is just something to be aware of when comparing prices on powertools at Bunnings.

Vaccuum shops do a similar thing to this as well.
