Ooooh I am looking for a flash light to put in the car, and i have AA rechargables… which model is the best one for that?
Or…. light nerds, give a summary of each item?
which model is the best one for that?
None. They all use lithium-ion 18650 cells.
<wah wah>
I was trying to figure out the specs and yeah…. LOL.
shrug maybe I'l wait for someone to summarize…
the MH12 has a micro usb charging port you can use to charge the internal battery inside the flashlight
Can someone explain what the use is for these torches? They are insanely expensive
When combined with a pitchfork, you can start a witch hunt.
The reason these are expensive… well if you ever go camping or 4wd'ing through the outback and you need a torch that's durable you'd probably want one of these. But you are also paying a premium for it's brand name, if they can discount 35 percent off and still make a profit that's a good sign you're paying for the brand recognition as well.
Search and rescue, hiking, etc. None of these are very appealing flashlights though - there are better options for this price in my opinion.
what are your suggestions? (serious question)
It depends on your usage and whether you're comfortable using lithium-ion batteries (18650, 26650, etc) or if you'd prefer using NiMHs (Eneloop AA, AAA etc). For a cheap single cell 18650 flooder it's hard to go past the Astrolux S41/Manker E14 with Nichia 219B emitters (with the optional body to fit 18650 cells instead of 18350s).
I'd strongly suggest you do your own research before purchasing any lithium-ion torch though as they have the propensity to be very dangerous if you don't know what you're doing.
@ComfortablyNumb: Ahem, Convoy!
Comfortably you know more about flashlights than me, but my experience with Nitecore branded torches has been very good.
I own several - TM06S, TM16, TM16GT, HC30 and TM26.
The only one I don't like is the TM26 - and mainly because it is insanely expensive and you are paying for inbuilt battery charging I do not want or need.
The HC30 is outstanding.
All are very high quality, much better quality than most of the other brands I have tried.
My experience with Banggood has also generally been good, except one order where instead of 2 x TM16GT they shipped me 2 x $30 USD no-name brand torches - then tried to dispute my claim in PayPal…
If your life depended on having light to see, you would be glad to have spent what these are worth.
This questions seems like 1 step up from - what is the use of light.
Anyone have problems using protected 18650 batteries on Nitecore torch?
You have to use protected batteries, these torches don't have built in charge protection mechanisms.
Too risky to use unprotected cells.
I use protected ones but it does not light up, have been using chinese battery but can't get max power.
Which light and which batteries?
@ComfortablyNumb: I got a Nitecore TM06S Tiny Monster, Panasonic battery can't get the torch light up, cheap chinese Ultra Fire battery does but can't get it to max power.
The light not producing full output would be due to the current from the cells. Do some research and purchase some quality high drain IMR 18650 cells like the NCR18650GA.
@ComfortablyNumb: I bought 4 of these ones, Panasonic NCR 18650 B 3400mAh Lithium Li-Ion, worked well in my Fenix TK75 but the Nitecore just can't take them.
What do you mean by "can't take them" - is the NCR18650B too long to fit into the battery tube? NCR18650B and NCR18650GA are different cells - the latter is a high current cell while the former isn't.
@ComfortablyNumb: Means no lights comes out at all if put in the nitecore but if put in Fenix, it have max output.
Thanks mod for putting prices up, I was out.
I just wanted to remind everyone that Banggood products are pretty poor and their warranty and returns are non existant. Last two purchases (10 months apart) for a tablet and drone have been DOA or non-functioning.
Far better than Everbuying which is Gearbest!
So you are saying that broken stuff from Banggood is better than broken stuff from Everbuying?
Yes, BangGood at least will refund or replace from my experience, EverBuying/GearBest don't.
Google the two, GearBest have an avoid rating on one prominent website and a LOT of horror stories.
@086:
Not in my experience, Banggood made me make take videos and take photos over a six week period and messed me around to the stage of giving up . I never got a refund or the product fixed . I imagine they will do the same again.
Anyway, essentially it's down to luck I suppose. Just a bummer to have two Failures in a row and some BS warranty policy that they don't follow.
….I just ordered some stuff from GearBest, so fingers crossed :)
…happy shopping!
Apart from their glacial shipping times, I've had no problems with them. This is ofcouse, entirely anecdotal.
Before/after prices would be nice please.
