Are you buying the parts or is it a prebuilt? That's pretty decent price if it's a prebuild, slightly cheaper than buying parts and saves assembly.

If it's not a prebuild, it's not bad but I would wait for a RX 480 for a the midrange card.

    • Pre build including Windows 10 and 24 months warranty

      • Looks decent enough, ensure its a decent psu though. No point having good parts Nd a s.it psu :)

Windows would set you back on top of parts so thats even better, id also check how warranty works, who pays postage who will be doing the warranty, them or another company ect.

Dot your I cross your T and if happy make the jump.

Upgraded the psu to 650 watt bronze. Still under $1300

  • Im also looking for a good price gaming pc from around this price, $1000-1300
Would this be a good build?

How do i go about ordering this?

Hi I will post the full process

      • Thank you very much, appreciate it

      • Interested too, whereabouts have you posted?

Also, with their specs where they've got multiple brands listed, do they let you choose the brand?

        • I have that question myself regarding which brand they pick

        • @CozmerkIsenberg: Did you get any clarification re: choosing brands / which brands they select?

      • I'm keen as well ✌️

Looks pretty good for the price. Personally, I'd go for the R9 390 as you get 8GB VRAM (compared to the 3.5GB usable VRAM on the 970 which you can hit with some modern games, especially at resolutions beyond 1080p). Other than that, performance is pretty similar.

  • Also, check out this (probably a better option IMO). http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Intel-Qaud-Core-i5-6600-3-9GHz-8G…

$1007 for a 6600, 8GB DDR4, 1TB HDD, H110 motherboard. You probably won't use any of the features of the H170 (only real downside for a single-GPU setup is the lack of support for DDR4 at frequencies above 2133MHz), and you can buy (separately) another 8GB of DDR4 to total 16 for ~$40 and a Sandisk SSD Plus 240GB for $80 (based on the 20% off), leaving you $107 better off.

Could upgrade the case to something nice like this and still have some money left.

    • Link you posted is the one I am going by starts off at $1259. H170 has more usb 3.0
Anything wrong with stock case ? I don't know much about cases

      • I take that back about the cases. They aren't that bad after some quick research (I initially thought they looked a bit like the cheap generic ones).

Could opt for the H170 upgrade for $89 and buy the SSD and extra RAM separately, which will cost ~$1200 all up if you want to save a bit more :P.

        • Seprately as in from different retailer ? Or from pcbyte instead of the upgrade option - currently charges $129 for ssd before discount. Reason I want to upgrade option is because they test and assemble even though overall will cost bit more but saves me hassle of adding stuff myself

        • @CozmerkIsenberg:

Well the chances are very low of it not working, and the SSD will be $100 before discount (use the search box in the 20% off post and search for the Sandisk SSD Plus 240GB). They won't be able to properly test the SSD if they aren't installing Windows or anything.

        • @donnot: agreed

        • "Windows key can be sought from reddit Microsoft marketplace for $20 usd if that helps"

How would this work?, so i buy the pc without windows and when it arrives i download windows 10 and use the key?

Sorry abit of a noob :/

          @rushjohn:

Win10 download link from MS techbench

You install it and as it installs it asks for a key. If you don't insert one, it'll install Win10 anyway but you can use it for 30 days only before it stops working.

You can use Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 keys as well!

Past July 29 these keys won't work and you'll need Win10 keys to activate.

        • @rushjohn:

I recently purchased 3x copies from reddit microsoft marketplace.

          Bought Win7Pro.
Slapped the keys into my Win10 "non-active"
          Activated online right away.

        • @scrimshaw:

          Skip the key @install

          Activate it after within windows.

          No harm.

          Ease of install

        • @chinezejew:

Okay so I pretty much just buy the pc with the specs and without windows, it should already come with trial windows 10 for 30 days and I just purchase one of the codes and enter t and its all set?

          @rushjohn:

          Yup.
          Cheap win10pro.
Just buy win7pro to activate if before July29th cutoff.
