Screw that.
All AEG gear I have ever had was of low quality and didn't last very long
Owned by TTI Group: Ryobi, AEG & Milwaukee
6 year warranty on power tools.
3 year warranty on batteries.agree.
stuff I have had which cost a stack, pretty ordinary for the costMy bro is a testament to total abuser of AEG hammer and impact drill.not sure if same one here. Still working fine after two years. He just finished doing our large decking area and kitchen Reno. He is a builder/carpenter of 15yrs. But he does also carry the 20v Milwaukee kit but I hardly see him use that cos probably of the size and weight and prob for diff purpose.
I don't think I can resist this deal!!
It's made an Impact on you?
Nailed it!
They aren't selling hammers…
Screw you and your crap jokes :)
I think these are the models with brushes that will soon be phased out. Slightly less powerful than the brushless. If you register online the warranty is extended to 5 years, wear the brushes out in 5 years and get them replaced AEG will upgrade them to brushless.
6years for these
I think these are the models with brushes that will soon be phased out.
Why? Brushless adds complexity and cost and for most people is not required.

Where in the warranty does it say new for old model replacement? They have repair centres that repair them and brushes are generally not a warranty item just like a clutch on a car.
For a start, brushless is more more efficient & generally more powerful then same size brushed power tool

You forgot the additional complexity, cost and that most people don't need it. Most cars on the road don't have forced induction despite it being more efficient and powerful then same sized engine.
How does it add complexity to the end user? To the normal consumer one drill lasts longer and has more power, the other doesn't. Simple as that.. I've burnt out several brushed drills and have had zero problems since getting a brushless drill
The AEG rep told me they will phase out for brushless. If you wear it out they won't have the model. Pretty simple really.

Clearly not that simple because your haven't said where this new for old warranty is offered. Brushes are generally a wear item as well.
It's a mute point because brushes aren't covered under warranty
I asked about them today and was told only one store had them in stock, and that store only had a display one for sale. Might be a hard one to track down
Yep told that no store locally has them - Central Coast NSW

Just sold 5 at bunnings Mascot…. Wil let u guys know if we have any more in hand stock… AEG rep will get some more the next few days…. ozito brushless drill kit usually 159 selling at 99….just in case anyone is interested..
What's the ozito you mention?
Great deal…would grab if I didnt already have a ryobi set.
I waited well over a year since that other AEG deal (with the radio).
I bought a Ozito combo with a recipro saw or something….hated it
A few weeks ago I grabbed the Stanley Fat Max combo for $149… not really pleased with that either (hate the way the drill LOCKS SOLID when you release the trigger),
And then this pops up. GRRRR
Well, off to Bunnings in the morning… then I better sell a few "as-new" drills sets.
How long does it take for them to issue me an account? I submitted the form a week ago
Usually it's done in the spot…doesnt take more than 5 min if u have ABN with u… U wil get a email with temporary barcode and u can use it straight away……..
How long does it take for them to issue me an account?
A Trade Pass or a Credit Account?
They are 2 completely different things. The Trade Pass is issued instantly. The Credit Account takes longer.
These hand tools, you will dispose them because of battery issues long before brush/commutator trouble you.
And since the batteries have 3 years warranty, and the balance e of the units have 6 years warranty… that's a bloody long time.
Scored the last two Penrith. niiiiiice.
Got one, thanks. Were 7 left yesterday morning in stock at hoppers crossing store.
North Parramatta (Sydney) refused to honour the deal.
Why did they refuse…. Its a powerpass deal… I just checked the price today.. Still 199….make sure u tel the register operator or tel then to scan ur powerpass..
It's not about price - it's about stock
Both Castle Hill (last night) and North Parramatta said no stock left, and "runout model" so cannot order in.
Castle Hill said they are running out all AEG as it's being replaced by Brushless. Load of rubbish, since they had a huge display end of I/N: 6230260 at $299
The Powerpass deal is for I/N 6230209 - it's taking me forever searching using the website as you must do one store at a time.
Any ideas where there are any left in Sydney, and/or what store would let me order one in?
Cant order.. Coz the item is suspended…. Had a chat with AEG rep…. No more…… Country side bunnings sud have stock….. But I think its too far…..
@thugs4lyfe: Thanks for keeping us informed, much appreciated.
DinL picked up one at Belmont (it was the last in stock) on Sunday
I just bought one of these kits from the Launceston store for $199 perfect for the home, 4 kits left.
OzBargain, come for the Eneloops and stay for the drill kits!
