AEG 18V 5.0ah Twin Pack $199 Normally $159ea @ Bunnings Warehouse

90

18V AEG 5.0Ah Battery Twin packs at Bunnings for $199, they are listed as $159ea battery otherwise. The guy in the tools section said they are on sale until they run out.

Saw this in the Maitland, NSW Bunnings

Sorry didn't grab a photo, the Maitland store had a stand with the packs in them in the tools section. They had some AEG and Bunnings tents up in store too so must be a promotion or maybe these are being runout for the 6ah batteries.

Wow this is even better, you need powerpass but you get a drill too.

  • sorry you might kick yourself when you see this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/252466

    • Yep, just saw it DOH!

I didn't see any of those deals in my Local bunnings though.

Yeah needs a power pass unfortunately.
I would get it, but don't really need it >_< haha

        • Yeah I don't have an ABN, friend got me one last time with his for $199, came with 2 x 2ah Batteries Drill Driver and Impact Driver. Great piece of kit but the 5ah batteries would be nice if you're doing a bit of stuff.

I'm only a weekend warrior (and it is a stretch to call me that too) so the 2ah batteries have been okay for me, only once can I think of a time where I've run one down and the other one wasn't fully charged. But if you have more tools it is nice not to have to swap batteries all the time.

        • @Hank Scorpion: Yeah I already have a couple Ryobi things (including standard drill), so seems a shame to get another brand… good marketing tactic…

As long as you're buying one of their brands it doesn't matter :)

  • Sorry for my ignorance, what is a powerpass by the way?

In it's most simple form it's basically a discount card. Requires an ABN. Even if you have a non trade related business though, you can get one (like myself). Half the time you don't even get a discount though (especially sale items). Some good exclusive deals too though.

      • Thank you.

      • So do you get a discount? Looks like just a credit facility

        • yes you get a discount on some items and you don't need to have a credit account with them. I just pay with my standard credit cards.

        • Thanks. Do you know what products you get a discount before purchase?

        • @driveahardbargain: I'm not really sure. I generally just find out on my receipt. You probably would need to ask staff if it applies on a product.

  • It's the Bunnings trade pass I believe, you need to have an ABN to get one. It's not hard to get an ABN though :)

    • Thank you.

    • You can also be an owner builder to qualify.

      • nice, do they ask for anything to qualify you?

        • Just a copy of owner builders certificate. You can get as many cards as you like. Give them to your mates.

Yeah I use the ABN to the brothel I frequent. I just said I'm the handy man you know the pipes and stuff
