      • You're all wrong. Those are the newer models. These are old, clearance models mentioned in this and also another thread which was deleted for insufficient stock.

  • Which store was this?
    Edit: NVM I'm blind.

The question is, can I fill this thing with cocktails?
I'm thinking during footy finals (yes long term thinking) if I can plonk this outside, the girls can get spakkers & leave us lads to watch the TV without the inane questions like, "why's he kicking the ball?", "Those colours really don't work, they need some oragne don't you think? Or even pink to soften it", "Don't do that to the cute one", etc

    • Just make sure there are no chunky bits in it!

    • supabrudda your a f@#$ken killer! ROFL LMAO i woulda + x 50 if i could!.

  • how much is water refills for these things?

    • Just refill from the tap??

      • doesn't it use those giant bottles?

        • Yes, refill them from the tap…. you could even drill a hole in the top to make a refill point…

        • @placard: well I assume I still need to buy one giant bottle first before I can do that

        • @hockysa:

Oh I see…don't they come with one included? How much is a bottle first? That's annoying…

        • @placard: looks like $10.88 from officeowrks

    • You can buy a replacement lid for the bottles (with a one way valve in them) online (not at Officeworks) and just refill them at home if you like.

      • Heh I didn't know that existed.

I use the cheap $10 bottles from Officeworks, when it's empty I just refill it with my filtered tap water. It's a bit messy because I tend to spill water everywhere when I do it :)

        • Try filling it with the frantelle 24x600ml packs for the occasional half price of $5.50. Takes 20 of them and about 15 mins ^^

        • Yep, bought ours from https://www.clarencewaterfilters.com.au/product/bottle-cap-r…
Just check your water bottle rim measurement is 55mm

        • Glad wrap and a rubber band.. works a treat :) (works as birth control too!!)

  • How does it cool water?

    • Compressor in the base.

  • How much electricity would these consume annually? Would it be easier just to use a jug in the fridge unless you're after loads of cold water?

    • "Our coolers cost approximately 5 cents per day to run, using as much energy as a 75 watt light bulb."

      ~ $18.25

      • 75w x 24h = 1.8kwh per day, at approx 30c per kWh = approx 54c per day if the compressor is always on.

For it to only use 5c per day it needs to be running at less than 10% duty cycle which is highly unlikely.

        • +2

          "Less than 0.16kw/h per day"

You're missing the thermal conductivity of polycarbonate plastic: 0.19–0.22 W/(m·K) & the average ambient room temperature in your assumpulation.

The low price is a great conversation starter for those awkward water cooler encounters

  • +2

That's a massive bargain. Im compressed.

Looks like it's the AQC2GOCOOL model - Cold & Room Temp here: http://aquatogo.com.au/our_water_coolers.html
    The 12L bottles are $10.88 alone! http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/aqua-to-go-…
$15.88 for 12L Bottle and a cooler/dispenser - You can simply reuse the bottles to make cordial for kids parties etc.

    Surely a store only deal.

    • +2

You can simply reuse the bottles to make cordial for kids parties etc.

What the heck… Buy them ALL for that price…

Cottee's is half price at Coles until end of today too !!!

  • So it is $5 only at that store it seems ?

  • +1

Nice deal, just called the store and now all sold out!!!

  • +1

These things are absolute rippers. We've had one for about 6 years now and it cops a hiding with three kids, especially in summer. We just refill the bottle from the tap and it cools very efficiently and quickly. Even at full price they are worth the money.

By the way, still full price at Wodonga store.

  • Did you just ozbargain a five-dollar water cooler?
    -Sure did.
    A cooler? Compressor,bottle, spout?
    -Uh-huh.
    It costs five dollars?
    -Yep.
They don't put bourbon in it or anything?
    -Nope.
    Just checking.

    Any Brisbane confirms?

    • None at Woolloongabba, guy said must be discontinued model/stock.

      • +1

Ah OK thanks for that, you are nice

        • -1

          Can confirm, same guy

This is an older model. They were advertised on the website a few months ago at this price but there was no stock so I didn't bother posting it. Both the desk and free standing ones have been replaced with newer models.

They heat and chill the water.

Bottles are $10 each but very easy to refill with normal tap water.

They have been removed from the website and looks like they are only showing the newer models.

  • I've seen photos of the Moet cooler/dispenser… this seems like the perfect opportunity to make it a reality!

  • Was anyone able to get it? I hesitated to post because there wasn't many available.

  • saw this on a previous post, went to Werribee and Geelong and the prices are showing $1XX.XX. Not sure if its a different model but the expensive ones are the only ones on the display floor.

Yes bargain, no pretty hard to find stock. Good luck =)

I bought the last one from Vermont South Vic.
