There is a Japanese curry house called Mr Curry that opened a week ago in fortitude valley station. Dude is Japanese and food is authentic. Normal pricing is 7.50 but he is offering dishes for $5 as an introductory price which is stonking good value considering the portion size which is pretty big. Wife ended up getting two dishes and says she will probably get work lunch from him everyday.

I doubt your comment has any value to determining if this is a bargain …
Considering Styrofoam is illegal (to serve coffee/hot drinks in) in some countries due to the chemicals you can ingest, I'm surprised (though not a scientist) hot food is still being served in them.
Not a scientist either but wondering if perhaps this might be because food is served at a lower temperature then coffee or other beverages?
Styrofoam is a requirement for a HSP though.
HSP?
Let me enlighten you with the Halal Snack Pack. Well this article can: http://thenewdaily.com.au/life/2016/05/06/halal-snack-pack-c…
Local fish and chip shop serves the food in styrofoam. I like it. Easy to transport, stays fairly hot and has compartments for fish, chips and salad. They hold alot of food as well - always very satisfied with the portion sizes. I don't think its an issue for food, for hot drinks made with boiling water it might be.
So..it's city chicken, city beef or city seafood for $5?
Mr curry is always good value and taste.
Yes,let us all go to Mr curry for delicious meals every day. You will have a great time. There is simply no competition. All of your dreams will come true at mr curry
Hello, are you Mr curry?
No, Mrs Curry.
The wife thought so too. She went back and bought another curry and the guy said that he would be going to normal prices next week, so get in quick I guess.
Always cheap curry on 300 queen st and myer centre food court. Myer centre one is best as it has pork and there's no time limit for the low price. Rice can be shockingly dry sometimes, though.
Japanese curry?
Just back from Japan & missing the food.It certainly won't compete with curry rice in Japan, but yes, it's Japanese style (which, even in Japan, is mostly packaged ready-made curry sauce).
Thanks - just missing Japan :-(
The sauce is pretty generic. I rarely eat it in Japan anyway.
Will check out these places. But usually eat Japanese in West End - prepared by Japanese. (A bit dearer, but nice to have a chat about Japanese ways.)
@Infidel: Had Woolworths in-store aburi sushi tonight. It was excellent! The best Japanese I've had around here is in Hamilton and the bbq place in the Valley, but the sushi deli in myer centre has delicious pork and curry sauce for an excellent price
I doubt it's from Japan…
