[PC] Rainbow Six Siege Starter Edition $14.99USD ($20.75AUD) on Uplay and US Steam

100

This is the newly released starter edition. It is still basically the same game but starts off with a limited arsenal of operators and weapons. Operators and weapons are then unlocked on a different scale to the standard edition.

If you purchase it via the uplay store you can get 20% off the starter edition once you covert and redeem 100uplay points.

    • Also it's $14.99 on the uplay store without using a vpn, even if you purchase it via steam you still need to use uplay.

this starter edition is essentially the whole game, with only half the characters unlocked.

The rest can be unlocked through gameplay, so really, it's a cheap game in exchange for a promise to keep the community alive through gameplay.

        Good deal.

  • It's a pretty good price, all things considered. Look forward to purchasing.

  • You'll need a VPN to buy it. I heavily suggest not using one as Steam really doesn't like it.

    • Could you please elaborate? Do they no longer allow it?

Only asking as I've used a VPN in the past to make a purchase and had no issues.

        Risk of getting banned perhaps?

      • It's against Steam's ToS. There is always a risk of getting banned. And if you're like me, I don't want to lose my 200+ games. Just go buy it on uPlay for the same amount with zero risk.

        • Just thought a warning may be the worst you would get if caught as you're still legitimately purchasing the game. I had only heard of players getting banned for using illegal keys and cheating within games.

          Thanks for clarifying.

I've heard this game has serious cheater problems on PC. anyone confirm?

    • there are NOT many cheater, but there are a few. You can usually tell by k/d above 4.0 (that means they are killing the whole enemy team on average across all games).

There is a report feature, and often times the enemy team will kick any player they find cheating. Hackusations usually coming from people that dont know how they got killed through the wall in Popular Camping Spot #3.

  • I don't suppose it's worth getting for single player fans? I get real tired of basement dwellers who play it 24 hours a day kicking my ass in multiplayer, I just want a bit of single player mayhem.

    • +1

Dont buy for singleplayer, but if you're willing to learn the maps on single player you will find that MP is not all spanny-shooty skillz.

It's about voice comms, map knowledge, and situational awareness. If Bf4 is too "pew pew" for you, try a real mans game (not Arma, I mean siege).

      • +2

I don't think 'gamer' and the term 'real man' really pair off well together.

        • and yet so many game

  • Do weapon attachments cost more as well? or is it just the operators?

    • +1

weapons attachments are worth a small amount in in game XP, approx the amount you will get if you lose 3 games, or 1/10 of a single win.

Game is DEF NOT pay-to-win. Only cosmetic content behind paywall, and over half of cosmetic is not even behind paywall.

How does the Operator unlocking system in the Starter Edition differ from the Standard Edition?
Please refer to the comparison below:

    STARTER EDITION

    • Instant Unlock:
2 random Operators from a pool of the most intuitive Operators at entry level: Rook, Sledge, Ash, Fuze, Mute, and Smoke.
600 R6 Credits to spend on either additional Operators (recommended) or other additional content

    • Slower unlocking of the remaining 16 Original Operators (GIGN, SAS, GSG9, SPETSNAZ, FBI):
12,500 Renown or 300 R6 Credits to unlock 1 Operator
Approx. 15 hours to unlock 1 operator using in-game Renown

    • Access to all Post-Launch Operators (JTF2, Navy SEALs and upcoming CTUs):
25,000 Renown or 600 R6 Credits to unlock 1 Operator
Season Pass unlocks all Post-Launch Operators

    STANDARD EDITION

    • Access to 20 original Operators through minimum playtime (GIGN, SAS, GSG9, SPETSNAZ, FBI):
Between 500 to 2000 Renown to unlock 1 Operator
Approx. 0.5- 2 hours to unlock 1 operator

    • Access to all Post-Launch operators (JTF2, Navy SEALs and upcoming CTUs):
25,000 Renown or 600 R6 credits to unlock 1 Operator
Season Pass unlocks all Post-Launch Operators

  • Approx. 15 hours to unlock 1 operator using in-game Renown

Far out so 15 x 16 = 240 hours to unlock them all?? By then you'll have more to unlock as well.

    Still, a good price.
