  • That seems like a very good price. I use Bosch blue gear, anyone comment on the quality / reliability of the modern AEG (by bunnings) gear ?
I had an original AEG pnumatic hammer last 20years

It's not very scientific but my internet search of the good brands to buy suggested that AEG were up there with Bosch, Milwaukee, DeWalt and Makita.

The six year warranty is pretty good.

I have an old blue drill too, a blue set of 18V cordless stuff, and a few orange cordless tools. Seems fine to me for serious DIY, even trade use. However I haven't used many tools to the point of destruction, so I'm probably not a good judge.

The 12V stuff would be handy if you want light duty light weight stuff.

AEG branded power tools are now manufactured by the same Hong Kong company that makes the Ryobi and Milwaukee brands. Definitely not up there with Bosch blue.

Rang a local store and overheard the tools guy complaining about receiving so many calls about [presumably] the drill. He's received 15 calls already and checked, no one else in Brisbane apparently has stock, and he's "over it".

Anyone managed to find any stock in Brisbane?

    • Is it too hard to say, "sorry there's no stock in our store, others have called asking the same so I've already checked"

      • I think he was complaining about the person answering the phone not doing just that, and instead sending all the calls to him.

        • I hope he has told the person sending calls to him, that they are out of stock. Communication goes a long way….lol

    • Worst sales guy ever! I wouldn't hire him.
He should have tried to sell you the next best bargain.

      • I didn't actually speak to him, I overheard him in the background while waiting for someone to answer. No point hanging on so I hung up shortly after.

The next best bargain would be quite far off, I think! :)

  • Could you please provide the item number, thanks.

    • I didn't get the Bunnings sku but the AEG product code is BS12CKIT2-402B

      • Yeah they can look it up on their system using that code. Make sure you don't confuse it with the newer kit with the smaller batteries. That one has a different code.

    • It's on the receipt the OP posted.

      • +1

The long number is the bar code apparently and not the sku, anyway none in Pakenham,Cranbourne, fountain gate,Dandenong and Springvale for people looking for one around these areas.

        • Have you checked with Keysborough too?

        • +1

          None in Keysborough either

  • Just visited the Nunawading store and the item scanned at $199. So might just be one off.

Did you not try to price match?
      Do you even ozbargain bro?

OK managed to get the last one at notting hill. Initially they refused to match $99 (it scanned at $169). But I sweet talked them into it.

These are a deleted line, seems they have replaced it with a version with 2x the smaller batteries, rater than the 1x small, 1x big.

Great deal thanks for posting op.

    • Yeah this is exactly right. I got the older version last time it went on clearance at $169.
Its just been replaced with a new pack with two smaller batteries. The impact driver is slightly different too I believe.

      • Yes I've looked on the AEG website now (was registering the 6 year warranty). Its the drill that has changed in the new kit, the impact driver is the same. The drill now has a battery meter like the impact driver does. So the difference between this kit and the new one, is you get a better drill but less battery capacity. The new kit is also retail $199, vs $169 (or $99 in this case)

        • RRP on this (old) kit is $199

Got the last one at Hawthorn. The unit was was priced @ $169.00 but the sales guy offered to give it to me for$ 99.00 as it was as end of line products Thanks OP.

    Thanks OP.Just picked up a set,around 13 left at Oxenenford at 11.45

  • None left at Castle Hill NSW

Thanks - I was just contemplating a drive down there.

They never have anything good… need to go to an older and dirtier Bunnings! The one out near the airport is awesome for ridiculously cheap random clearance items.

      • Picked couple of them from Marsden Parks NSW at mid day and still had about six r seven in stock…..

  • Nothing wrong with the 12v stuff and it's much better at getting into tight spaces.

  • None left at Hoppers Crossing VIC.

I asked the support person about Ozito's new range, he said you get what you pay for… :(

He said, they are expecting more combo packs this month due to EOFY, you want to buy one, this is the month.
