You can get it for $239.2 via this link: http://groupbuy.ebay.com.au/deal?itemId=231948279056
I would still avoid it though, these drives are really slow compared to other SSDs and have reliability issues. Sandisk Ultra II is a much better buy, they are often around ~$270 from amazon.
thanks lyl changed the deal to your link
not very fast SSD drive, BUT, the huge but is if you swap this for the traditional hard drive on any old systems, it will see a huge improvement. Just that, compare to other better SSDs, it will be lagging, say 10 second slower in certain operations, but it will still be a lot faster in majority of performance area comparison against traditional hard drive.
If you want to milk that 5 second faster in the file transfer, booting up of OS and Game, maybe 2 frames extra in game fps, then look elsewhere
LOL.. Fast SSD's giving you 2 extra FPS? You definitely doing it wrong with your system then. hehe
well, most of the games fps real performance are confined to RAM and Graphics cards. I use a RAM DRIVE in my 32G ram game system, yeah SSD don't do much in such case. Only issue is to load the game in the ram drive initially, where faster SSD would shorten the time required.
Real life performance wont be leaps and bounce between EVO and PRO if the target is 60 FPS!
OK for reads but ssd nand have limited number of times can be written to …..32 GB RAM and it is going to swap ?
10 GB OS system memory and 20 GB games file memory in RAM drive, i load the entire game folder on to RAM drive.
With 16GB sticks today, it is possible to make 64GB ram in 4X16 config, but the cost is still way higher than having a good SSD or PIC-e SSD. given the size of games now blows up beyond 20 GB fully installed, RAM drives aint exactly a cost effective solution.
not every game gets performance gain under RAM drive, but generally is a lot faster, tested a couple of old games dont require full installation they load almost instantly.
Id pay a bit more and get the sandisk ultra ii at $270. They seem to be the sweet spot for price to performance.
