  • Similar happened to Target over Mac cosmetics a few years ago. I expect shrill comments here, yet a storm in a teacup.

  • I can't believe after dicksmith someone else (read, kogan) wants to float…

    • Think about it from Kogan's perspective. The Dick Smith owners made a killing on the float. Ruslan would be a fool to continue trading tomorrow if he can cash out for a massive premium today.

  • This isn't new news if you are a keen Ozbargainer or have Ozbargainer's Common Sense®. See

but I guess it is 'official' news once it makes it out to the headlines. Won't be very good for the public image now!

    LOL

“It is simply unacceptable for businesses to raise prices before applying a discount in order to give consumers the misleading impression that they are obtaining a larger percentage discount than is actually the case,” ACCC Acting Chair Dr Michael Schaper said.

Too funny! If only they'd go after all the other scumbag ebay retailers pulling this one on us!

I thought those PowerSauce bars I bought from Kogan the other day were fakes - they were made of Mongolian newspaper!

I'm glad that the toaster I ordered from Kogan was Kogan-branded. At least I can be 100% certain that it's genuine :)

    • At least if it was fake it would be better

  • From the article it sounds like either Nikon of Canon fake lenses.

I find it incredible that someone has the technical knowhow to fake a lens.

I'm also not surprised that Kogan is behind this. I dont think its a defence for Kogan to say that since Kogan operate out of Hong Kong then who knows how the supply chain going back to China operates.

It looks like Kogan is in a serviced office in a swanky area in HongKong so I would assume they do not hold stock there. You would need to trail this back to where Kogan actually gets stock.

  • I was actually surprised to see Kogan doing this crap. Mate of mine bought Samsung S6 early this year. The phone arrived and he brought to show me. I realised it had SuperSu and other root apps already installed. I asked him to check with Samsung if this is genuine. It was a genuine UAE model however had rooted firmware on it. It took us about 2-3 weeks to convince Kogan that it had Custom ROM instead of Stock Samsung ROM.
