@nikkirose: well then you're REALLY gonna cry when margorie dies in tomorrow's episode!

        • @Putnum: but he'll be happy again when caitlin stark gets resurrected :)

        • @Mahogany Granger: But she only gets resurrected when Tyrion reaches Winterfell and stabs Gordon Ramsay Bolton.

would make a great second monitor or non-gaming monitor.

Just reported Brett to the authorities, don't worry man, justice will be served.

  • Would this work fine with a 1080x1920 laptop?

    • Only if the graphics chip can display out the 2560x 1080 resolution of the monitor I'm assuming.

    • That depends. The premise of the question (that the screen resolution of the laptop has something to do with its compatibility) is irrelevant.

Would this be compatible? Given your drivers are up to date and your laptop is running as it should then yes, it should.
Would this work fine, functionally? Yes, it will function.

      • Um.. this won't work from a HDMI output on some lower end laptops. Couldn't get mine working on a few brand new ones with intel graphics.

      • Thanks for the reply… Drivers are updated.

I've owned one of these.. ended up selling it later on gumtree. The vertical height feels very small.

    • +9

Agreed , a mate owns this - its height is way to small…. i do not suggest this as a good computer monitor.

Check MSY clearance price list they got 5 monitors (Victoria) "much" cheaper than this one, a real bargain!

Edit: they also got some 27" for around $250.

I've got the 29" and it's the same height as a 24" widescreen. Although this is really cheap I would encourage anyone considering one to measure up the screen dimensions to make sure you will be aware of how small it will seem. I personally wouldn't want smaller than the 29" as I'm use to the 24" normal widescreen screens.

    For example - http://i.imgur.com/Prrbv6E.jpg
This is the 25" ultrawide next to a 24" widescreen

    • Thanks for the photo, very good for a comparison.

    • Did you just find it for a helluva lot cheaper than OP's???

      • +1

        US Dollars

    Input lag ?

  • I purchased a few weeks back. Great for BF4 (or other games with 2560 support), Visio, Excel (with wide sheets)

Prefer my regular 24" 1080p for browsing, word docs and movies.

    I'd buy again.

I grabbed a couple of Samsung curved screens cheap, they seem to be throw away prices atm. Don't cheap out too much on a monitor, you WILL regret it.

if you buy this screen. think of it as 2 17's stuck together.

i ahve one and i use it for that reason

  • Beaware of this model or these resolution of screen under Mac OSX.

I have a mid-2012 RMBP and plugged this screen to my laptop as additional monitor - The laptop won't detect.

I hooked this screen to a Hackintosh (well I have a more powerful PC for video rendering), it gave me reboot each time I plugged it in.

By far, it works perfectly under Windows 10.

I understand there are some other 3rd party software can make this LG screen work with Mac OSX but they are not quick win. I would suggest either 19201080 or 25601440 resolution screen for additional monitor for Mac users - they are simply less hassle!

This screen is individually calibrated and the color looks really great!

    • My brother has two of these running off a single 2014 Mac Mini fine with no 3rd party fixes.
Had initial problems getting it to detect that were related to dodgy cables. Bought a quality 4K MiniDP to HDMI cable, and all problems solved.

    • I had to use Switchresx to get 2560x1080 working properly on my MacBook Air 2013. Other than that, great monitor!

    • no problems from my 2015 rmbps

  • Is this any good for pron viewing?

    • +4

it is if you like fat chicks, you can stretch the video.

      • +3

Thanks, I'll buy one for the upcoming season of Biggest Loser

        • Yep

The season will last longer with this monitor.

  • isn't this the normal price i've been waiting for this to come down more ( or the 29" one to go down)
it's a good format for working

  • This is a great monitor. However I have the 29", I came from a 27" so the 25" just seemed way too small vertically for me.

It takes a little while to get used to but I find it trumps a 2 screen set up.

  • I don't know why this is considered a bargain, I bought the same monitor from umart earlier this year for the same price

  • fwiw, I use it connected via HDMI to my 2015 13" mbp

  • +1

Yeah best go look at one before you buy as they sound a lot bigger than they actually are.

  • I love mine for work, but yeah, they're only about 14" tall

    • correction, it's about 25cm tall ie. less than A4 size

      • The height is Less than a4 of the long side or short side?

  • OP how are the colours of this monitor compared to your macbook? Is it easy to colour match?

    • +1

I find it good, but I have modified the colours to be very warm

    • +1

      i have a macbook.

      colors match fine.

    • thanks guys!

  • Do these, or monitors in general, come with HDMI cable included. Or will I need to buy one separately?

  • I bought the 29 inch one. When watching TV shows, the video window is smaller than the one on 24 inch monitor because of the ultrawide aspect ratio.

Movies are much better. Vivid colour and no black bars.

I would not recommend to buy from MSY unless you are 100% sure this monitor is right for you as they don't allow change of mind returns.
