could be either automatic or manual transmission

Haven't seen a manual rental car in the last decade

    • 80% is auto but they got some manual, but because all the fleet in melbourne is auto, im assuming they will only give auto

    Pickup Bris, dropoff Melb.

Yeah you'd have to pay someone to do that.

      "Rent for 1 to 7 days". 1 days LOL…

      • LOL, how fast can you drive? It is a rental remember :)

I live near go airport and work near bris airport… Might do this just to use someone else's car…

    • yeah but how are you getting back afterwards? you still have to pay for it, its not free.

      • train would be free. I smash 9 trips by Tuesday arvo.
but think airport bit might add $10
waste of money really… just bored

    • Do you know if any of these allow for extra days? Looking to bring a car from Adl to Melbourne.. And sneak up to the snow

Is this moving someones car while you use it as a rental for cheap?

    • +1

Just returning rental companies cars so they don't need to pay for a driver. Not $5 a day either. There is often a booking fee of around $20+ insurance etc

      • +1

There is no booking fee and insurance is included, Its $0 excess which generally major car rental companies dont even offer

    • +1

This is moving an Apex rental car from A to B without labour or transport carrier cost by the car rental company. But yes your assumption is right.

Awesome deals on the imoova site.
Some even pay for some of the fuel costs, eg camper van from MEL to ADL $100 fuel included for $1/day x 3 days.

just be very careful with T&Cs

      • Agreed.

Pay with platinum credit card to avoid the insurance 'excess' charges.

        • Many only cover international travel and those with domestic cover are often capped at $1250 of cover. ANZ platinum is for example. Also, only card holders are covered when driving.

        • just go for the $0 Excess at Apex, if you use debit card , they charge you $400 bond which gets refunded if you are not dodgy

        • I think CommBank covers $2.5K domestics hire excess on their Platinum card.

        • Beware the get-out clauses. e.g. ANZ/QBE:

          We will not pay:
          1. for the collision excess, where the full amount payable by
you under the vehicle rental agreement for damage to the
          vehicle is more than the collision excess;
Note: You will have to pay more than the collision excess
when you are not covered under your vehicle rental
agreement. This is because certain events or circumstances
will not be covered under your vehicle rental agreement. This
might vary by car rental company but could include but not
be limited to such things as:
          (a) a single vehicle accident; or …
