FREE $100 Westfield Gift Card with Any Hospital or Combo Cover @ Peoplecare Health Insurance

380

For those who don't qualify for the $200 NIB eftpos card, i found another deal which may be more appealing as you only need to sign up with Hospital only cover as a minimum.

This will be the fund i will transfer to after receiving my $200 eftpos card from NIB (Unless i find a better offer)

Things to note:

  • This deal is probably best for those who have PHI to avoid the Medicare Levy Surcharge. If your on a Private Insurance Cover for medical reasons, its probably not the best idea to be jumping from one fund to another

  • I have confirmed that all your waiting periods transfer from all your previous funds. Just make sure you either have the transfer certificates to provide to your new fund, or provide authorization to the new fund to request the transfer certificate. Now when you login to your new fund account, you will see the waiting periods from when you joined the new health fund. But this will be corrected manually when a claim is made based on all your previous transfer certificates.

Please refer to this deals comments for more info about transferring between health funds: $200 EFTPOS Card When You Join Any Combined Hospital and Extra's Package @ NIB

Enjoy

  • Good find. Don't forget that you can have Hospital and Extras Cover with two different insurers. With the recent bad press about NIB, perhaps move Hospital Cover to Peoplecare after you qualify for the $200 card and leave Extras with NIB. Until the next deal comes along….

I'm keeping an eye out on more good offers.

      • Looking for extras only insurance if you find anything, I don't qualify for the $180k annual family salary.

      • With June 30 coming up, there will be more offers for sure.

        • and by then, we can transfer to the next best deal before June 30th

  • Signed up the nib offer today hopefully this offer lasts for another month.

    Peoplecare are a good fund.

  • When it's tax time, do you have to get proof of insurance from every insurance company? Or just the most recent?

if you provide your correct medicare number it get downloaded automatically via eTAX

      • Amazing, thank you!

  • Perfect. Was wanting to move away from NIB anyway. This seems like a good fund and the gift card is just a bonus.

    Thanks :)

    • Please let us know when they deliver the gift card

      • Sure. Just finished the application process via the promotion page. Nothing else was mentioned about it anywhere. I'll call them tomorrow to confirm the details.

I just about to know you are an expert in PHI. Thanks for posting good deals like this.

Thanks divious. Adding that to my ozbargain portfolio

  • Is there a cost or any kind of negative effect on your credit history etc. from constantly switching health funds? If not, I'm in!

    • +1

Nope. Your free to keep hopping between health funds.

      • Awesome, thanks! I've never had PHI before (I just got pushed out of my family's fund). I don't have to pay the levy anyway because of my age. Should I go for this one first or your other NIB deal? Or would it make absolutely no difference? Thanks again!

        • If you don't have to pay the Medicare Levy Surcharge (Income less than 90k) its not worth it.

        • @easternculture: Oh, I see. It's just that I was thinking of getting PHI anyway just in case I get injured/sick and getting a gift card/eftpos card is better than getting nothing if I sign up to one of the other funds (I was initially thinking Bupa).

        • @easternculture: why is that? Sure I can profit from all the giftcards right?

        • @maolin95:

But your paying money to get a gift card.

For people earning 90k plus, they will be penalised a medicare levy surcharge (MLS) if they dont have PHI. So its better to sign up to a fund and get GC's then just paying a MLS and getting nothing

  • $25 more than what I pay per month..guess I'll pass

    • There is probably a good reason why you're paying $25 less per month. I suspect your cover is far less than this people care one. Unlike other funds that have some pretty crappy policies that don't cover much, these guys offer pretty comprehensive cover to everyone.

So long as you are aware of what you're not covered for and you are happy to make that compromise then that's fine.

      • I just need to reduce tax anyway, not really a private hospital type of guy. We got a pretty good public system regardless. Wonder if I could just join this company, got the eftpos card, and switch back again to my current provider lol

  • I don't like the condition in the terms that undelivered cards will not be covered, what if they don't send them at all? Has anyone received the card?
