Problem with a Competition Win

I was just wondering what other people thought of this. About 4 months ago I along with other ozbarginers entered a competition with a large company to win a $1000 shopping spree for target. To be used and spent on this company's products.

After being drawn as a winner and been verified. I was excited to receive my prize. After app 8 weeks I received an email with a couple of small toy items on it and was told I had to pick $1000 of toys from this order form. Every toy being on target reduced stock items and every item on the list was priced 10-30% higher than target has these toys at the moment.

Going to this company's Facebook page I have found that I wasn't the only unhappy customer. Now it seems this company is getting ugly and in some winners cases have said they will not honour this prize at all. To be honest I would be happy to receive the toys on this order form. As I believe something is better than nothing. But now after a number of attempts to contact this company I receive no replay. I am wondering from a big company. Where can we go from here ?

    Wow, amazing it turned out like that and they couldn't just give you a gift card, or online discount code for the $1k.

    Maybe just try placing the order anyway?

      You could really get them in some shit for going against their terms like they have…

    Did you complete the order form and send it back? Or are you just waiting for answers to questions?

    I have completed the order form and sent it in 2 weeks ago. After communicating with another ozbarginer who also won. He said in an email he receive from this company. They will not be sending out any orders until every winner has completed and sent in their order for. Now some people have given up and are so angry with the process they have decided not to put an order in until this company complys to the terms and conditions on the entry form. And the company has not honoured some peoples win after complaining. This is an interesting process and I'm wondering how this will turn out.

    not a smart move on their part.
    I read an article on news.com.au saying they arent doing too good and thats why they had that massive makeover.
    i hope it works out for you and you get what is rightfully yours.
