Best Sound Quality Earbud under $50

I'm looking for an earbud sub 50$. Does anyone have recommendation?
I'm currently keeping an eye for Xiaomi Hybrid for ~23$, but I want to know whether there's a better earbud out there under 50$.

PS. Don't care about design, microphone, etc. Sound quality is what matter.

Thanks

  • The Sony MH1C's would be my pick. Overall sound quality is (IMO) the best in this price range, having tried the Xiaomi Piston 2,3's, hybrids, and a fair few other sets. Here's a good review of them: http://www.head-fi.org/t/632892/review-sony-mh1-the-best-kep…

Can find them on Ebay (from the UK) ~$40 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Genuine-Sony-Smart-Headset-MH-1C-…

Good to see someone who is sensible

  • You should clarify something …

Ear buds are type of headphone that is small speakers that sit outside the ears. One such type is the white Apple earbuds that came with old iPhones for example.

Then there are another type of headphone that are variously known as In-Ear Monitors (IEM), in-ear phones, canalphones plus a few other commonly used terms that are inserted into the ear.

I ask this because you have specified ear buds however you mention the Xiaomi Hybrids which appear to be IEMs.

Unless you specifically require ear buds I suggest that IEMs will provide you with much better sound quality.

  • sennheiser from Wireless 1 store at parramatta or any 'Audio=Technica' brand

  • I bought Xiaomi Hybrid and I'm not impressed at all. I compare Xiaomi Hybrid with my Apple earpod, and the Xiaomi one sound worse. I don't really get the hype about Xiaomi Earphones, but I can say that you only get what you pay for.

    • IEMs are very subjective. The Xiaomi ones are better 'technically' than the earpods, but the sound signature is (from mine and others' experiences) not as universally enjoyed as others (such as the Sony MH1Cs as I linked above).

  • You need to give more details, just saying.

Preferences in earphones are kinda like preferences in food in my opinion. What I like might sound horrendous for you, vice versa. I kinda don't like Xiaomi one (well Piston 3 to be exact) that much, ended up not using it after awhile. My recommendation is either try the earphones out (if you live in the big cities, I am sure there are a store that allow you to have a go) or buy ones that pop up until you find the right one for you.
