  • Might want to put Dicksmith in the title.

    • thanks mate

  • so no H2.64? (can they be in containers other than MKV?)
    any idea of the resolution?

no network? which is what i mainly use mine for, but still cheap!

  • not bad, but can it play 1080p?

  • does 1080i http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.asp?DriveID=681 hope this helps, but still a great post!, cheers

    • No, That is just upscaled output. It does not play hi-def files.

  • Does it support HDMI connectivity?

  • Interface Component A/V , Composite A/V, USB 2.0

Good review here for those too lazy to read:

    it's outta stock already lol.

From every DSE store? ever heard of pricematching at other places?

    • +1

you ***… there are heaps of stores listed as having stock

      MOD: language please

    • You click the little button that says store availability before you neg.

hebe, your vote has been withdrawn as there are plenty of places with stock. This doesnt seem to be a "one item per store deal" to bait people in

  • Picked up the display unit from DSE Wategarden, and there might be a returned unit there.

  • looked to buy online and they state on back-order.

Rang Bendigo they said "heaps left"

    cheers

  • I rang a couple of stores - plenty of stock

  • +1

only 720p and 1080 upscale. NO HDMI. Only advantage is that it supports RMVB.

    • Don't think anyone would expect full HD or HDMI from this unit. As it suggest, its really just a 'Mini' unit for your average divx, etc. For the price, its still great bang for your buck.

      • hmm true that, i think i need one with ethernet interface so i'll hold off

  • DSE are terrible with stock of good priced items. They never have stock. Just like the recent Ipod Touch deal. Chermside had about 10 and sold out within 30 mins. Never got anymore in.

  • You can get these $10 cheaper from Bing Lee

    • Well spotted,
but are these really a bargain when you can get DVD-players with USB and digital audio out for the same price, that does much more?
It is very basic with no ethernet or wifi, no hi-def, no hdmi. Does it have digital audio even?

      • Yeah, that's true. Also something to consider is the usability and interface to watch recorded files off the hard drive. The review on tweaktown linked above gives it a great rating.

      • do you have any suggestions of which usb + dvd players to get for around the same price??

  • No h264 - for me that is a no deal.
