should mention that Bing Lee deals using this code only applies to those living in NSW or border towns to NSW.

    • Funny you should mention, but I didn't read the full terms and conditions of the promo and went ahead to purchase the HDD.

Was still able to get the 20% off the item and just paid for postage.

      Live in VIC.

I have had such incredibly bad luck with Seagate that I stopped buying their drives. Certainly bitten by the 3GB models with known problems but other drives too. I'm sticking to WD for now.

    • +2

I agree - I recently purchased the 3TB version of this above drive (Expansion Portable with the black diamond checkered surface).

After extensive testing backing up / transferring files, I think it's either really not USB3, a dud drive or a bad product. All my other older Seagates still work flawlessly (they have the longer case with plain black surface).

So I think this series is a fail from Seagate and are to avoid. Moved to Seagate after a few WD MyBook's on board USB-SATA board failed - plus I didnt like their non-removable extra software partition.

Same for me - I bought the 2TB Seagate and it is definitely not USB 3 speed.

  • anyone know what hard drive is in the 2tb seagate?

  • +1

has anyone purchased this drive recently. reviews on amazon suggest they have changed to USB3 connecter on PCB rather that having a sata drive internally.

    • +2

Would depend on date of manufacture, as it appears to be "newer" (end-2015) drives. Safer option would be to avoid entirely.

    • Will update you guys, giving it a shot. If not, I'll have a 2TB hdd to use anyways.

    • Just got mine yesterday and opened it up today.

      Good news!

Mine had a manufacture date of 02/2016 and was still a sata drive internally.

  • Is this the same hard drive that can be used on a PS4?

    • +2

yes it is! i just found out

      • Just hoping that this version is the one with the SATA drive internally. Just bought one, thanks OP.

      • good news guys, I just opened up the HDD and it definitely can be used for the PS4

  • Would love to find that 2TB Seagate for under $100 in QLD

  • So do I buy the Breville BPR200 Fast Slow Cooker OR the Philips All In One HD2137/72?

The Philips All In One can be ordered from The Good Guys for $181 - 20% - $30 Cashback = $114.80
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Philips-HD2137-72-Viva-Collec…

    or the Tefal Cook4Me (from The Good Guys) $287 - 20% = $229.60

Did you buy any of those cookers. If you haven't yet, there are reviews which can help you decide. Maybe you've read the reviews already since you made that comment. People have posted reviews that the BPR200 exploded, which obviously isn't good.

The Philips and Tefal aren't available on The Good Guy's Ebay store anymore. The Philips HD2137/72 can still be purchased from Bing Lee for $199- 20% = $159.50. Bing Lee has the Tefal CY701160 but it's $349 - 20% = $279.20. I noticed, they have another Tefal cooker that you can get for $199- 20% = $159.50.

Last month when I was thinking of which Multi cooker to purchase, the Philips and Tefal were on my list. After reading reviews on various websites, I decided to buy the Breville BPR700BSS Fast Slow Pro. All these cookers have similar features but I liked the functionality, design, specs and build quality of the Breville more than the others. It also has a non-stick ceramic bowl/pot, which doesn't contain PFOA and PTFE. The BPR700BSS looks like the newer/updated version of the BPR200. The BPR700BSS was either sold out or was intentionally removed from The Good guy's Ebay store recently. It was $299 the other week when it was still listed. $239.20 with the 20% discount would've been a good price to buy it.

Bing Lee is selling it for $329.00. After taking 20% off, it's $263.20. I purchased the BPR700BSS in April when Ebay had the 15% off cooling15 code and Breville also had the $50 cash back promotion. It was $319 last month on Bing Lee's Ebay store. The total price I paid with the 15% discount and the $50 cashback was $221.15. Compared to the BPR200, the BPR700BSS has more Pre-programmed functions/programs and extra features. There's a Customised setting that lets you manually choose the pressure/temperature/time. It has a hands free steam release, which allows you to choose between Auto quick/Natural/Auto pulse. The steam setting you choose depends on what you're cooking and it determines how the steam is released. It might sound complicated but it's not and is easy to operate. Everything is done automatically because it has dual sensors (top & bottom) to detect when and how often the steam/pressure is released.

There are lots of safety features built into this cooker (Primary Safety Release Valve, Secondary Safety Valve, Locking Lid, Lid Position Sensor, Silicone gasket, Vessel Temperature Sensor, Thermal Fuse, etc). It's one of the most useful, durable and best appliances I've purchased for the kitchen/home. It also has an LCD screen that displays what it's currently doing (Preheating, cooking, releasing steam, keeping warm). The BPR200 is an older model and doesn't have all these features, maybe there are other differences but not sure what they are. I don't have anything bad to say about the Breville BPR700BSS. It makes tasty, delicious and healthy food. I'm confident I'll be using it for many years.

      • Thank you so much for the reply. I haven't yet bought a multi-cooker — I very nearly bought the Philips HD2137/72, however I couldn't find any positive reviews of it (aside from a few mixed opinions at productreview.com.au).

That BPR700BSS looks nice and solid, however at $263.20 (at Bing Lee) is slightly out of my budget.

My personal rant: There are so many small appliances (eg. multi cookers) that there are very few objective reviews or roundups. I'd most like a head-to-head showdown between various multi-cookers. Instead there are a few paid advertisements on youtube and some user opinions about exploding cookers on productreview.com.au. In my case I couldn't decide which cooker to buy so I just went without :(

  • The price of fitbit HR just went up!!

  • +1

    I purchased the Seagate Expansion last night at 119$ - 20%(119) = 95.2$
Got a call in the morning and collected it.

The price is now gone up to 139$.

Good thing I bought in time :)

    Thanks OP. Good Deal.

  • Would OW price match the Hard Drive?

    • +1
