  • Do us a deal on a 4tb(2tbx2) NAS raid 1 around $300

    silly Q. does it cost you more to get delivered to PO box/Parcel locker?
    But the QNAP kits is excellent.

      PC Lan uses a very poor quality courier at cut rates. I can only presume the surcharge is for them to utilise Australia Post. I wouldn't buy from them without ensuring they use AusPost. Don't expect any support from PC Lan when their courier fails you either.

        Hi,

        We mainly use Couriers Please and Fastway Couriers for our free delivery options. If customer does not feel comfortable with these couriers, they can always contact us by phone / email to request AusPost or other couriers service (extra freight may incur depending on customers' location).

        However, couriers/AusPost service's quality always depends on the drivers on that particular area which is out of our control. We will do our best to help customer to contact these couriers company if they have problem with the delivery. But if customer refuse to communicate with us and hang off our phone, we are not able to assist in this case.

          thanks, I'd rather either of those couriers over Auspost.

    • Hi,

      Actually for some area, the cost ship to PO Box can be $50 (or even over $100 to NT depending on the parcel size) more than a street address by couriers. Therefore, delivery to PO Box would be at extra charge so that we could do the best price for others who has a street address to deliver.

      Cheers,
      Sales Team

  • A little deceptive to sat that the 4 bay rack mount unit supports virtualization. It can only be an nfs data store as far as I'm aware.

    • Hi, the seagate Rackmount NAS supports EXT2, EXT3, EXT4, NTFS, FAT32, HFS+

    I hate HDDs less than 4tb.

    • cool.

    • And let me guess… You also hate…

      Phones with less than 4gb ram and/or 64gb storage
      Power banks with less than 20000 mAh and/or qc2.0
      Eneloops that aren't Sayno Japan
      The list goes on… If you hate them, then don't buy them. There are other options to buy what you want. And from all the negs on you're comment, I'm guessing no one else cares what you hate…

      • It's interesting that you say there are other options to buy what I want. Sure there are, but my comment was referring to the fact that there are no options for 4tb drives in the packages above.

        Talking particularly of large (eg: 8 bay) nas's, which are in the order of $1k, how does filling them with brand new 2tb drives make sense?

        16TB = QNAP TS-853A Bundled w/ 8 x 2TB = $1925
        16TB = QNAP TS-453 Pro Bundled w 4 x 4TB = $639 + 4*205 = $1459 (and that's without a pclan discount)

        My point is valid. 25% saving by using bigger hdd's.

        Personally I'd love a TS-853A, but I'd rather it was bundled with 4x4TB and I could expand it myself later. Even at a price premium. PClan, can you please offer more sensible options (bigger drives and some drive bays left empty) in the future?

        • +1

          No, your comment was "I hate HDDs less than 4tb". And your comment didn't refer to anything other than your total dislike for HDDs under 4tb. I don't know how I was to read all this other garbage you filled your second post with into "I hate HDDs less than 4tb"

          As for more sensible options, it should read "more sensible for you". They can't make an offer that suits every single person that moans on this thread.

          And your final comment in italics would have been a lot easier to read into and may have given pclan some insight into what people want from deals. Either that or they have a sh¡t load of 2tb drives they need to offload.

          Or you know, post your own deal using your 25% better off example with extra empty bays for later upgrades for the same storage as the 16tb deal here…

  • is Synology better or Qnap ?

  • +1

    Dno't pay

    So you accept donuts for payment?

    • I read that as they DO accept donuts. Win!

  • Ive had 2 shipments from PClan both were well boxed and delivered by fastway couriers , so no problems here so a + from me

    • Thanks for sharing your experience, we appreciate your support

  • C'mon give us a deal for the TS-251+!
