Hi guys, an number of people have been commenting regarding issues with shipping and/or items being out of stock.

For those who have only received part of your order, this is often because we ship from two separate warehouses. All AFL and Tennis stock ships from Melbourne and the rest from Sydney. This is a primary reason for the clearance: we're consolidating warehouses. What this means for now, however, is that you may receive your shipping in two separate packages. This is stated in your order confirmation email.

The only reason you WOULDN'T receive your package is if, in the unprecedented traffic of the clearance, an item was purchased by multiple customers simultaneously/went out of stock and was re-purchased before the system could sync and mark it as sold out. If this has occurred, and we are unable to fulfill that item, we will be in contact and will provide a refund. We apologise for any inconvenience if this is the case.

We acknowledge and appreciate the latter situation is not ideal and, over the next few months, will be launching on a new platform with much faster system updates to ensure this will not happen again. Along with the warehouse consolidation, it's all part of the bigger and better future of Fangear!

      Yep we've noticed there has been a few instances of that and we're working our way through it. Oh, the joys of marking down thousands of products at once! We're aiming to have it fixed by today so we'll post on here when it's resolved.

      Hi RtN, we're working through the orders as quickly as possible - as I'm sure you can appreciate we've been absolutely smashed with this sale, so packaging thousands a day. Our general shipping turnaround is very quick however as stated in the order confirmation email you would have received:

      "We will make every effort to ship your order to you ASAP, We always aim to meet the following despatch timeframes;
      • Express orders sent next business day*
      • Standard orders within 2 business days*
      However please note:
      • Delays may be experienced in peak promotional periods."

      …So there may be a slight extension on this, but shouldn't be too bad.

  • @fangear what is your electronic stocking/inventory systems like? ordered a few memorabilia items which are now sold out. Hope I don't get the dreaded 'sorry out of stock email' if your systems didn't calculate the stock correctly! :)

  • Hi banzini, our systems are pretty good at picking up the Out Of Stock lines and sweeps the site constantly, however with 20,000+ products on the site it can potentially take a few minutes for quantities to sync over. In some (rare) instances, if two people order the same item at roughly the same time, and it's the last in stock, then yep, the dreaded alert can pop up. And at times like this (heavy promotional periods) there's theoretically a greater chance of that happening. But again, it doesn't happen often.

        Hi kermuffle,

        We are in massive clearance mode and only have a limited time to sell through a large amount of stock before we move warehouses, so every few days we are dropping the prices further across the board. The closer we get to our deadline, the more urgent it is to clear and the more we drop prices accordingly. That's how all retailers work, whether it's in-store or online. It's got nothing to do with 'waiting' until people have made their orders.

        We are not forcing anyone to buy at any price; we are simply letting people know that we are offering great products at WELL below cost. If people are happy to purchase an item for a certain amount and secure their size, then that's great for them and we're glad we can help. If the customer wants to hold off in case the price drops further then they are more than welcome to do that and we'll be just as happy to help - but they run the risk of that item going out of stock and missing out completely, which happens quite often with clearance product. Someone may wait for something to be 90% off, but if in the meantime someone else is happy to secure it for 80% off then, as they say, the early bird gets the worm.

        At the end of the day, we don't feel this downvote is warranted when all we're trying to do is offer everyone a bargain by offering bigger and bigger discounts on great quality gear.

    Please explain why you shipped my order without notifying me that you were cancelling most of my items
    I wouldn't have ordered if i was going to have to pay $10 postage on $30 of items

    Can you fix this or will i have to do a chargeback

          I received one of the item and it is faulty. I sent email with photos and Peter acknowledged and confirm item to be faulty - was promised refund as a result, that hasnt happended yet.

    I wished I saw this on here, but still managed to grab some bargains. I just happened to come across it, I am meant to be on their mailing list but never got an email about the sale, oh well. On the plus side, I didn't spend as much. ;-)

    I was just notified that 2 out of 5 items were cancelled (sold out) and could not be shipped. Hoping i'm not paying $10 shipping on a $3 shirt.

    Ive also just had an email saying one of my orders has been shipped, 4 items in total only 1 item, a $3.29 hat, has been listed as being dispatched, hope im not paying $9.99 on just 1 item!

    I have received only one item out of 16 ordered! No explanation was given about the rest of the order. Does it mean I paid $9.99 for the delivery of a T-shirt???

    I'am getting a lot of items being out of stock even the transaction were made and only been inform when i contacted fangear about the remaining items,

    1st order - 6 out of 7 were delivered

    2nd order - 3 out of 9 items are been dispatched

    Horrible management not happy with the way they are dealing with consumers.

    Would customer who had paid express shipment had priority over the stock remaining? unlike myself had chosen standard shipment and later to find out stock unavailable.

  • Didn't get any notification regarding an item. The other item received . When I got in touch, I was told out of stock and will be refunded. Not impressed that I had to initiate contact and not them. When an item out of stock and the other item on the order is sent, you notify the customer and not wait until the customer contacts you, I would have thought…

  • I am still waiting too. I have received 4/12 items from my second order (17th May) and none of the 5 items from my first order (12th May). My items were all showing in stock at least several hours, most days, after I ordered, so if any are out of stock I know for sure it's not just because I ordered at the same time as other people. I asked them about my orders when they sent my items from my second order and even though I gave them my order details they basically said we'll get to it when we get to it and we'd have told you if it's out of stock. I haven't heard anything about my first order since I paid. All of the remaining items of both orders are tennis, so I'm hoping because it seems to have been the biggest part of the sale that they're just a little behind and I will receive it all in the not too distant future.

    • Apparently the items I ordered on 12th May (in the evening) have been sent! Received the shipping email. Now just waiting on the rest of my 17/05 order. Shouldn't be long, as both of my orders were definitely being sent last Thursday or Friday and yesterday. I don't actually mind too much, just the longer I wait the more concerns I have about stuff being out of stock.

    Still waiting……. nearly 2 weeks and no communication. I haven't received anything yet or received any notification of cancelled order / order dispatch. That's very poor service.

    No Stock, took my money and only sent 1 out of 2 items and did not even have the courtesy to call or email to advise of the item out of stock. Their customer service is RUDE and have only one answer that with so many order we can't do anything… !!!
    Why have a fire sale when you can't manage it ???
    Awaiting response from their CS manager on shipping refund as the order is incomplete and its not worth to pay shipping only for the item they have sent or else they can take it all bag and provide me a full refund…

      • you should. These people are incompetent at managing inventory and processing orders, while their customer service is a joke to boot. They've held on to your money long enough.

    I got my memorabilia orders fine but they have stuff up all my clothing orders. Im still waiting for one from two weeks ago. Then have three more after that.

    I will give them 24 hours to reply then i open a paypal case.

  • Did everyone get their refund yet? I got an email from Eway (Transaction Receipt Approved Refund) but no actual refund in my Bank Account?!?!

    From Eway site - Refunds generally take between 2-7 business days to settle back to the cardholder's bank account.
    Important Note: If the refund has not been received by the cardholder after this time, we recommend that your customer contact their card issuer for more information.

      That's the normal timing for a refund onto a credit card, debit card, and you wont actually see funds into your account until it gets there if that makes sense! wait it out not ideal I know but I'm sure it will arrive before the 7 days are up! if they aren't there after the 7 days lodge a dispute with bank if paid with card or paypal and they will sort it for you :)

    My negative vote stands. Missing 24 items from the package list. No communication. Wasn't included in the cancelled items either. Also many items were cancelled. They seem to be Avoiding my emails now. Big joke
