Do not redeem Ticketek gift cards. Cannot use them for most AFL games and other events. They also have the worst customer service.

    • I really recommend the Ticketek gift cards, never failed before for normal events. customer service was excellent, you may have just had a one off bad experience.

    • Yes, I can confirm that the Ticketek gift cards can't be used for AFL games. I tried that online and over the counter. The guy said that the AFL tickets are still on the older system. Therefore the gift cards can't be used.

I complain about it last time and they provided a refund.

Kinda makes me glad the website was playing up when I went to purchase The Book Of Mormon.

How do you commit to something 7+ months in advance? I guess this is why there's always people desperate to off-load tickets close to the show date.

      • -1

What's with the down votes? I'm really trying to understand how someone can commit to something so far in advance…

        • +2

I didnt down vote you but im guessing the answer is a little organisation. People plan their weddings a year in advance. People plan their holidays a year in advance. I bought book of mormon tickets for the preview shows ($99 tickets) at the time that was 12 months in advance. If youre going to spend a couple hundred dollars on an evening 7+ months in advance im sure you'll guarantee you attend.

          @OmarTheBoss:

People plan their weddings a year in advance

You can't really compare a musical to your own wedding and I've never received a wedding invite a year in advance

People plan their holidays a year in advance

Maybe, but people also take out travel insurance in cases something unpredictable happens, so I don't think it's a valid comparison

im guessing the answer is a little organisation

          must just be hell-of-a-show

        • You can also get ticket insurance during the checkout process

I'm not sure I understand, it's not that difficult? Outside of emergencies, there's not really that much that can come up… You're likely to still be living in the same city, maybe you break up with a partner, but just go with a friend…. what else is going to happen to stop you from going?

Also, it's the Book of Mormon, it's pretty freaking awesome, worth making sure you get tickets to go to!

        • @PhilipJWitow:

I saw it in London and thought it was rather average tbh

        • @PhilipJWitow:

what else is going to happen to stop you from going?

Work, Weddings, Babies (yup - babies can be conceived and born in 7 months) … list goes on.

        • @sp00ker:

Fair enough, but by that logic, you should also not plan holidays 12 months in advance, as those are all things that would disrupt a holiday. I think most people are just not as risk-averse as you are, and are happy to take on the risk.

Also, people are in different situations than yourself. I definitely won't be having a kid (vasectomy + other measures) nor getting married in even 2 years time, and my work is flexible enough that I could take all of next week off if I wanted to even today, so something a few months in advance is no issue.

  • i am a optus customer never get these emails

  • Just remember it takes between 1-3 days to receive your gift card

  • Server appears to be down at the moment…

  • can this be obtained with a $2 sim ?

    • +3

Yes it will work with a $2 sim card. You just need to activate the sim card and register for Optus perk separately. It might take Optus Perk more than 3 days to fully activate. So if you're planning to purchase Ticketek vouchers… hurry cuz it ends on "15 May 2016 at 17:00 AEST."

      • Cheers mate all sorted with a $2 sim took about 30 mins to get access to perks :)

Does anyone get errors with trying to buy Ticketmaster giftcards?

It keeps on getting redirected back to the Optus Perk homepage. Is anyone else getting the same error?

Thanks for posting the deal OP, quite a good deal.

    • Yeah, no matter what I click I keep getting redirected back to the Optus Perks homepage.

Did you work it out eventually? Been trying this with all browsers and my mobile and still no luck…

      • a bit late to reply as the deal has finished

but no it didn't work for me throughout to the end
I tried different browsers too (IE, Firefox, Chrome, Opera) on mobile and desktop
you aren't alone on this ^^"" not sure if it'll make you feel any better…

  • Has anyone purchased these already? How many days did it take you to actually receive the email? Looks like it's 1-3 business days and I just saw tix to a show I want to go to will be released on Monday! Guessing it's not a good gamble….

  • omg r u kidding me? getting the link is dead message. what a bloody hassle. have emailed ticketek meanwhile the seats i want will probably be gone!! another 5 rows back argghh.. not worth it. crappy

  • Has anyone tried to redeem the ticketek vouchers? It keeps on saying "Invalid Gift Voucher ID. Check your Voucher ID and try again" when I try and make a purchase.

  • This deal expired at 5pm AEST. Shut it down! ;)

  • Purchased 2 from ticketek on Saturday, got the email today today saying that had been provisioned.
Clicked the link to activate them, and then used them 2 mins after.

Worked perfectly (without being an Optus perks member), thanks OP!

    • hmm they took my money instantly on Wed nite but have yet to receive the gift vouchers, been 3 business days
and it's nitemare trying to contact Ticketek

      • all I can say is good luck! Try hit them up on social media (facebook) it's a̶l̶m̶o̶s̶t̶ impossible to get them on the phone.

    • so lucky! i still cannot activate my voucher code and impossible to get them on the phone. always engage. worst company to deal with ever.

    • Hi, did u get your voucher sent via ticketek or via optus perks email?
Rung ticketek, had to go through their disabled helpline, says that they don't have control over this as it is owned by optus perks??

      • I used the direct link above (http://optusperks.ticketek.com.au/OPTUSGV/) which is actually a just an optus branded ticketek page.
It was sent to the email address registered with ticketek (I never registered with Optus perks).

  • Bought mine on Saturday morning and got the vouchers today at 3PM.

    All good!

  • ok i have managed to redeem tickets. the activation doesn't work via mobile browser. I had to log in to email on my lap top, activate and then buy through ticketek website.
