Found at Docklands Victoria Costco. The colors are a bit nicer than the plain white ones, couldn't find a place of origin but pretty safe to assume China.

Masters still have stock of Eneloops for $10 for a pack of 8. Check your local store for stock.
that picture is porn
so many eneloops
It wasnt that easy to w*nk to but I got there in the end. Thanks OP.
Yep, this post needs a NSFW tag
Isn't the Panasonic branded Eneloops Chinese? Sanyo were the Japanese ones, right?
Yeah but the hard reality is that the vast majority are now Chinese. It'll be hard to find the real Japanese ones unless you trawl the professional type sites.
Unfortunately the Chinese ones arent as good, they dont last as long being used and the shelf life isnt the same but they still are head and shoulders above other brands. I mean if you can still find Chinese ones cheap, go for it.
they still are head and shoulders above other brands
There are plenty of Japanese AA/AAA which outperform and are cheaper than Chinese manufactured Eneloops. E.g. http://www.harveynorman.com.au/duracell-aaa-rechargeable-2-p…
I disagree. I have those. They arent as good as even the Chinese eneloops. And you linked an out of stock clearance item.
Are you sure you have the same model? The ones I linked are rebranded Japanese eneloops and perform far better than the Chinese manufacted AAA Chocolat Eneloops in my testing. They're in stock too according to the site and have been that price for a couple of months.
@ComfortablyNumb: The Duracell you linked stays charged for only 6 months (seen from the package) and it can only be recharged up to 400 times. It's not the same quality as the Eneloops.
The Chinese ones are inferior to many alternatives.
Fujitsu for example are Eneloops, in fact they are the battery the Eneloop is based on, not the other way around. Ikea Ladda are better too to name just two. There were Duracell branded batteries known colloquially as Duraloops, not the ones pictured. These were rebranded Eneloops (Gen 1 I think).
I believe the Duraloops are these (not affiliated to Coles):

They are made in Japan and stays charged for 5 years.
can you use any charger
to charge this ones
or you need a specific chargerYou can use any
Nickel Metal Hydride one
That you desireI wouldnt use a cheap charger because you end up destroying your precious Eneloops. You need a decent smart charger than can monitor and shut off per channel. Buy once, cry once.
Thankyou for the tip
I will look at better ones
Than I have right now
oh dear so Costco is the next to go under?
Not at those Eneloop prices!
Saw them as well at Costco Moorabbin. There's 4 black ones and 2 have red rings in the silver contacts to distinguish them.
I really like the 8AA + 4AAA pack with a charger for $39.99.+$65 or whatever membership costs, which NO, THEY WILL NOT REFUND AFTER 11 MONTHS LIKE OTHERS CLAIM HERE!

I'm not so sure. I bought some Eneloops from Costco last year (the blue ones), and they were made in Japan. Can someone who goes to Costco please check the country and enlighten us in this thread?
I looked all over the packaging and it's not stated anywhere, they were distributed by Panasonic Australia and I'm pretty sure Panasonic distributes Chinaloops in Australia.
It should be on the packaging somewhere, but if it cannot be found on there, it will be on the actual batteries…
