      Nice

I'm lead to believe you'll get the 5 year Nitecore warranty if purchased from Amazon but not from Fasttech.

Hmmm I am not aware on the warranty side, but Amazon is definitely one of the best retailers to deal with.

      • Nitecore "warranty". My i4 charger would only charge in 2 of the 4 slots and both Nitecore and Banggood weren't interested. Having said that, this is a great price and I haven't had anything go wrong with any of my 6 Nitecore lights including an EA4 from a couple of years ago. Just be aware that the alkaline cells will die quicker than a snowman in a volcano so you better start charging up those eneloops!

Edit: Just realised that this is from Amazon so you should be fine with warranty

    • For those who want to know, this makes 44,73 usd

    • They may give you warranty if you go back to Nitecore direct but they will make you pay for shipping and maybe other expenses it also depends on what is wrong with the light!

I have just received my Convoy S2+ torch from Gearbest and I prefer that over this Nitecore which I also have.

    • I still haven't got mine. Got the batteries and keychain torch I ordered a week later though.

    • Do you prefer it due to the size and/or the light output due to the 18650 battery?

      Which 'wick' do you have?

      • I have bought the T6-4C 4300-4500K.
I prefers this because of its small size, 18650 battery, reflector, simple UI, metal clicky, and very cheap price. It is also very easy to service and good simple design. I recommend that you take the copper driver off and apply a bit of thermal grease in order to increase thermal transfer to extend its longevity.

    • Which Convoy S2+ did you get from Gearbest? Did a search on Gearbest and there are a few Convoy S2+.

Can I trust you regarding deflecting blaster fire?

  • I have a LED Lenser T7 which I absolutely love and feel it's pretty damn bright, but after looking it up is only just over 200 lumens. I see this bastard claims over 1000 which I have a feeling would legitimately deflect blaster fire. Am I looking at this incorrectly?

    • +2

Trust me, dont start collecting lights, I have over 30. The T7 will do you fine. But to answer, yes, somewhat incorrectly. The difference between 200 and 1000 lumens is not as much as you think, at least to human eyes. Its brighter, you will notice it, but not to the degree the numbers imply.

This will possibly run for longer though due to 4 AA, not AAA as in the T7. Still, if you like this style of light, go the Sunwayman D40A, its a better unit. And FastTech wee selling them with a code listed on OzB a week or so ago, for similar money. Points raised above are true re warranty though. Amazon will be much better on warranty in a couple of years than Chinese vendors. Although Sunwayman are pretty good from what Ive read, I never had a Sunwayman fail or need warranty so cant speak from experience, but I can say they are very good quality.

      • Perfect answer. You are the perfect person to direct my most dire request to: a new headlamp. $75 or under, I was going to look at LED Lenser just cause I like the brand but I now have Sunwayman & Nitecore to look at. My only real requirements is that is has red night vision mode and is easy to turn on and off when totally off chops.

        • Sorry I know nadda about headlights. I dont own a single one. But BudgetLightForum or Candlepowerforum would be a great place to find out whats around now, and how well they perform.

Just start a thread in the right place and you should get heaps of options.

    • Yes tuba is right! This also depends on the circumstances obviously in the middle of a field 1000 lumen will look a lot brighter then 200 but in my yard not much difference because i can not use all that power but once the field is to big 1k isnt enough power any ways…also the beam pattern is a big one if you have a dedicated thrower @ 200 lumen and a flood beam @ 1000 lumen at distance the 200 lumen light will seem brighter. tint also plays a roll a i love my white tints but most people don't i just like the raw power… i changed my C8 from 6500k tint to a 4000k tint XPLHI now it lost its wow factor i would reflect of fence and it would hurt my eyes lol i might put the old V2 1A back in the light tonight…

  • A relevant review of the flashlight, shows it does not quite get to 1000 lumen. Close though.
