In the lead up to the new Battlefield announcement they are having discounts and give away on content.

All DLC will be free for both games, starting with Dragons Teeth for BF4 and Robbery for Hardline, see here - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/246224

BF4 Premium Edition is $22.95, but as the DLC will be free, this makes no sense unless you want it all now. Same story for Hardline Deluxe edition, although for that you some shiny stuff instead of maps for the ultimate edition.

      I just checked the webstore for that, and BF4 was $99.95 for X1 - and $79.95 for Premium Edition - http://www.xbox.com/en-au/Search?q=battlefield+4

          Ahh gold, I am not a Xbox user so no idea what the web store shows. If you see a discount for BF4, then why the higher price for Hardline?

          @snuke: Hardline is $14.98 on its own with gold, but if you bundle with BF4 you get a mad discount of like three bucks.

      Graphics Hardline, BF4> BF3> BF2 >BF1

          I like BF2 most in terms of real background

          @edgar28: yep, I know. Technically speaking, Hardline is on par of BF4, but applying same tech on the rest of BFs, hardline is the worst in my humble opinion. I love the whole series and don't admin hardline is a BF game.

    BF4 is 396 rubles on xbox one on the russian xbox store if you have a gold subscription. Costs about $10 for a 500 rubles digital giftcard off their store if you know how to do it. Just bought it. :)

    BF4 seems to be the better choice, much bigger player base according to http://battlefieldtracker.com/population. I haven't played either game so can't tell you which one is actually better, so awaiting someone that actually has the games shares their opinion I'm leaning towards BF4

      If you are going to get only one, then it is a no brainer, BF4 all day, every day. Better game all round, and a much larger player base on all platforms.

      They are two separate games that are not connected in any way
      Battelfield 4= 'traditional' battlefield game
      Battlefield Hardline = is battlefield in more urban environment and cops vs robbers/criminals
