I previously asked about the Ssangyong Stavic but after seeing the Kia Carnival Sli, we are pretty much sold and cancelled any other short listed cars. Just wondering what others paid for it considering it's relatively new. I'm open to the petrol or diesel variant, most likely the Sli model. Would they sell it for 47k petrol or 50k diesel?
Thanks for your reply. Yes, I'd been reading your post. Hence I kept the platinum model on the radar. I think you got a great deal for the ex demo. Which dealer did you get it from? There's a lot of extra bells and whistles on platinum which I can do without for the $5k savings so wanted to see if any other members got the Sli. My original budget was 45k but the electric doors and tailgate has me wanting the Sli.
I was weighing up between the Sli and the Plat, but went with the Plat for two reasons:
1. The 360 camera is absolutely phenomenal - makes parking anywhere so easy. I actually find it easier to park the Carnival than my smaller Outlander now!
2. Best I could negotiate for a new Sli diesel (non-metallic paint) was $51.3k drive away (no ex-demo's around when I was looking), ~$3k for the Plat features seemed fine to me.
I got the Plat from Tom Kerr in West Ryde, John-Paul there sorted me out without too much fuss. Watch out for the after sales folk though, they'll try and flog you all sorts of paint and interior protection that are well overpriced.
