i enjoyed playing the first Lifeline. then i played The Martian (game of the movie that was basically a rip off of Lifeline), and found the novelty of the system just annoying. i don't think i can really be bothered doing another one of these types of games.
having said that, i was playing on an ipad mini, where i wasn't really getting the notifications until i happened to look at the ipad. i think the experience would be far different on a smartwatch - these games are PERFECT for a smartwatch! if i had one, i would totally get into these games for sure!
The movie was based on the book the Martian from 2011. I'd say Lifeline is a rip off of the book,but there is probably some 1970s scifi novel out there as well that had a lost astronaut with an attitude.
Sorry, I meant the GAME of the Martian (the gameplay and how it works) was a rip off of Lifeline, not the movie or the storyline.
I should have said "the game, of the movie, that was a rip off of Lifeline". Left the commas out! :)

For what its worth, I only played Lifeline. I thought it was pretty ordinary.
I enjoyed Choose your own adventure books and Sierra games as a kid.
Its set over 3 days.
First time I finished it, I played cautiously, saved Taylor.
I then tried to be a prick but most of the time the questions were input for the sake of putting in inputs or if i tried to force a new path, taylor would argue and do his own thing anyway.
Only really 4 possible endings I saw and was annoyed with it by the end. Glad i only payed 20c.
I've wanted to try these out for a while, thanks heaps!
