[PC] 3 Free Steam Keys - A Bird Story/Cloud Knights/Defend Your Life - MacHeist

860

Click the link and play the little game. Using the scroll keys or you mouse wheel might work faster and better than clicking so try what works best for you. You will have to use clicking at least three times though (you will work out where)

If you do it right, you can get three Steam keys, namely for:

A bird story: 84% positive: http://store.steampowered.com/app/327410/ plus trading cards

Cloud Knights: 65% positive: http://store.steampowered.com/app/360130/

Defend your life: 85% positive: http://store.steampowered.com/app/357780/ plus trading cards

No spoilers in the comments please. If you cannot figure it out by yourself, you really do not deserve the three free Steam keys.

Enjoy.

Note: When I used IE the frame rate for the game was terrible. When I used Firefox it was fluid, normal and fine. Not sure if it will be the same for you but worth a try.

I'm sorry to ask, but how does this work? I could use a hint!

      play it.

Once the game has finished loading, walk around using mouse.
Quite easy to find the games after that

      • for some reason, the game doesn't finish loading, it stays at 1.55/1.56
I, tried reloading several times but it still stops at 1.55 ..
        anyone know why?

        • try a different browser?

Just click on all the object/spaces that look unusual and does not contain a game advertiser. It's not hard to figure out but incase you experiencing this game at 1/2 a frame per second like i am this may help a bit.

      • With IE it was like that for me.

        Firefox was fluid and fine.

I am on chrome and the game is a complete shitshow. I doubt it would even load with IE

        • @highdealer:

          Have not tried Chrome.

Also, maybe now the site is getting heavier traffic than when I tried it (before I posted it so I would be able to say that it actually worked).

        • Chrome was really slow but I managed to get all the games.

        • @Lysander: Its better on firefox but it still slow as snail due to many people doing it at once. Also defend your life also come with trading card.

        • @highdealer:

Thanks. Forgot to add that but done now.

  • Got the keys but need twitter or Faceb to enter competition so passed on that

    • No point in entering as it expired a day or two ago. :)

    • That's fine. That comp ended a anyway even though one can enter. I will delete it from post.

Not exactly sure why we're not "spoiling" this…it's not a particularly fun or interesting process, just a different set of hoops to jump through. Walking up and down a pathway of ads is equally as mundane as a checklist of links to click/subscribe to.

It's like saying "no spoilers on whether you're a robot for the captcha!" ;)

But cheers for the keys, anyway! :)

    • And yet, some people need help. What does that tell us?

It is the first time I have seen a giveaway process wrapped in such an innovative process. And even though it is only a tiny little bit it does require thinking - how else could it be that a few people need hints?!

      • Innovative process? It's an extremely basic and thinly veiled attempt at gamifying advertising…not exactly something i'd call "innovative".

The fact that people need help says nothing of the "game" itself, but of the ability of the person. (plus we don't know what exactly the one person above needed help with…if it was just the controls they didn't understand, then that hardly makes it a worthwhile game just because one person was stumped by the controls!)

Are you suggesting that you enjoyed playing this "game"? (if so, then i'd suggest you are as equally undeserving of the steam games as the people that need help working it out!) :P

It was a crap attempt at gamifying advertising. End of story. I'm not sure why you're defending it…but fair enough, each to their own. This is merely my opinion as a gamer, who finds crappy attempts to gamify advertising to be insulting to my intelligence. If you found it a worthwhile experience (the "game" itself, not the free keys - i'm all for free keys!), then ok, i'm glad you enjoyed it (because i guarantee most people did it simply for the free keys!).

SPOILER: The "game" sucks, but yay for free steam keys! :P

        • Of course it is not a game in the proper sense of the word.

However, this is the first time where I have seen freebies given away in this fashion.

Normally it is FB like, Twitter, Gleam.io crap, captchas and a million other steps which have been increasingly implemented.
That is why I called this "innovative" and "refreshing" in that sense.

At least it is something different than the normal bundle advertisements which are mainly listing the games and embed a video/trailer from Youtube.

I prefer it the way they did and giving away three Steam keys for looking at what you call gamified advertising is fine with me. For one crappy game from Gleam.io one has to do ten times more than here for three Steam keys for decent games.

        • @Lysander:

I honestly far far far prefer gleam.io to this, even the ones with a ridiculous amount of steps. With gleam, I can click through all the links in under a minute, even closing some of them before they even load. A bit of a pain, yes, but far less of a time waster than this (especially with the server load, causing it to lag).

I don't love gleam.io by any means…but honest to god, i'd take 40 gleam.io steps over this (and I could probably do those 40 steps far quicker than it takes to complete this!)

But anyway, this really doesn't matter. I stick by my comment that this "game" sucks, and the "no spoilers" thing is silly/weird to me…but fair enough, each to their own.

Thanks again for the keys anyway! :)

I found it much quicker to use the up/down arrow keys than clicking

    • +3

The scroll wheel works really well as well, and it's much smoother (for me) than using the keyboard.

      Thanks for the games.

      • I will add it to description. May help other people.

  • This whole macheist thing is a bit of a disaster. What can you expect with that list of games? People probably already have 6 of the 9. The others aren't worth bothering with.

I did it to get A Bird Story since it's from the developer of To The Moon, but I think it needs to be approached with low expectations as a 1 hr silent story.

    • +1

i needed every bit of my 32gb DDR4 ram to run this in a browser

  • thanks mate, got all of them. better than the gleam.io crap, although it seemed to take as much clicks/scrolls :P

    • You are welcome. I thought it was quite fun and innovative. Hate gleam.io even though I found an autosolver for that that which I do not use.

  • Mouse with free spin scroll wheel helped : D

  • Out of curiosity….How do you trump the Fez tower? My lag is too stronnnngggg

  • How do you actually play it? The link doesn't take me to any game.

  • Ahh what the f this is super old. Oh well
