    Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8" 32GB (Black & White)

I'd expect a colour screen for that price…

    :)

  • I have been eyeing the bigger Galaxy Tab S2 9.7" WIFI 32GB for a while. In Dec/Jan, Bing Lee website had it on special for around $470 but even then I considered it was too expensive. Wait until Jun, we might see that price again with the AUD recovers to USD 0.78

That assumes whether Samsung does any price adjustments in currency fluctuations and that the retailers are passing this cost on along with discounts. Unless of course, you want to get it grey imported, which the currency values will matter more so.

previously this was 355$ after 20% discount on their ebay store, ref https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/231169

They have increased RRP and now offering discount which is still more than the previous RRP 444.0$

Yeah price is HUGELY inflated. Was going for 350-400 with previous 10-20% off Ebay deals since Dec. Got the 9.7" for less than this from Good Guys a month ago!

Kogan's eBay store has these up for $481.99 before the 15% discount bringing it down to $409.69 after it. That's for the black and white versions.

The gold is cheaper starting at $461.99, bringing it to $392.69 after the discount.

Not the cheapest I've ever seen, but the cheapest I've seen it for a few months (since the 20% eBay deal mentioned by sigma).

    • only thing is.. you lose the local warranty on Kogan.. I think the local stock is also 2 years vs 1 year for overseas (but could be wrong on this).

  • Not the best device for the price either, as Samsung chipped away at the specs, when compared to the last generation Tab S.

    I own both the S & S2, and prefer using the S.

  • Would Google Pixel C a better buy?

  • I have the 10" model s2 and I absolutely love it.

I have never used a tab s, but from what I gathered, the s2 was an improvement in almost every way (albeit not a significant one), except for the screen size. If you are using the tablet for video consumption, probably worth finding a tab s for the better aspect ratio, otherwise this tablet is the one to go for. This thing is amazingly snappy, I have zero regrets buying it (I paid ~$480 for it in the last ebay deal) and have no dramas recommending it to people.

But… this tablet was used to replace my long failing original nexus 7 which was so horrible for the last year or two that I barely even used it, so your expectations may be different.

  • Got it for $349 when AUD was weaker and tablet was newer. This is far from a good deal
