  • Damn… need Melbourne to HK flights :)

    • +4

It's the same price, $699 from Melbourne, just change the departure to melbourne. This applies to Brisbane as well.

    $647.89 if book via Bestjet

    • How? just make a booking through them or need price beat?

      • +11

normal process, they are just a regular travel agent - i guess they don't pass on the full commission.
you get same airfare as offered on qantas site, incl FF points, etc
        exactly same, but cheaper.

          exactly same, but cheaper.

This is what a ozbargainer want to hear

    • Is Bestjet legit? I'm thinking to give them a try but find some bad posts about them online.

    • nice find. thanks for the info.
I last used Bestjet on 18/3

        It's ok. You're a battler!

    • so does that mean best not to book through bestjet?

      • +1

Best is to pricebeat with FlightCentre for $1

        or PricePromise with Qantas

        http://www.qantas.com/travel/airlines/price-promise/global/e…

        • Flight Centre sucks! Never contacted us again once they realised they couldn't price match a deal to Vanuatu.

        • Price Promise requires you to purchase via the Qantas website first and then submit a form online after the fact, on the same day. It can then take quite a while to get the refund.

        • @Cyphar:

Yes, but most of the people don't want to deal with Bestjet

        • thanks for this! i'm planning to try pricepromise with Qantas! wonder if anyone ever get back their refund from them!? lol

  • +1

This deal is also for Melbourne and Brisbane - just change the departure as such and the price is still $699.

    • Thanks Chachamaru7. Deal updated

  • Awesome price !!

  • why not from Perth? It is even closer yet more expensive doh!

    • +2

      Because it's Perth.

    • What GregRust said.

But in all seriousness, distance is not a great indicator of price when it comes to airfares. If that were the case, regional flights would be proportionally priced.. but they're not. In many cases, regional flights more expensive than flights between the tmajor capital cities along the East Coast. Again, Perth is the odd one. lol.

  • damn i purchased tickets on the last sale back in Feb for $750 return

    • I had it once when the flight price dropped 2 days after I made the purchase
Feel bad as I cant refund and repurchase it :(

And you can't purchase more like currency or share trading

  • When did Qantas start charging such a high cc fee?!

  • This deal is cheap!! Hope we can afford to go before our infant turns 2, otherwise we will have to pay hundreds more for a child ticket..
Anyone know if this includes checked in baggage and how much?

    • Did I miss anything?? u need to pay $699 for child ticket but just hundreds more more infant ticket

It includes 30kg and food and drink

      • Oops i didnt reply directly to your comment so here it goes again:
I only did a quick fare check to see how much children cost - Infants are charged around $70 whereas a child (2-11 yo i think) would cost about $500 return.
30kg sounds great! I didnt see what the bagage inclusion was when i had a look :p

  • At 90,900 points does this stack up the same with FF points? Anyone?

    • Are you saying that's the cost shown when you do "show in Points"? The "show in points" conversion of cash fare to points is always rubbish. If you wanna find the reasonably priced points tickets, search for Classic Flight Rewards fares (you must be logged into your QFF account to search though).

      • Yes that is what it quoted when logged in and chose show in points for me.

    • -1

nah thats rubbish. not a month ago there was a deal for return 48000 points brisbane to narita in business class if thats a gauge.

      • That was a mistake fare though, so not an accurate gauge. But still, 90,900 - would have thought 60k or so for a classic economy reward.

      • Not a gauge at all (as carwashhair says) - you can't count on pricing errors and think they'd be accurate measures of good use of points.

      • Ok ta. Hard to tell, will try classic rewards instead maybe. Thanks all for input.

  • yeh fair enough. but a rule of thumb is qffs when redeemed well, are worth 2-3 c each. Flights to Hk from any major capital city sure as hell arent 90000 x 2c ~$1800 return at the moment.

  • QFF points usable to upgrade premium econ or business? Any one know how many points it would cost?

  • Posted too wrong thread - delete

  • Qantas price matched Bestjet for me, so $650 return to Hong Kong all up. Nice deal.

    • nice! how did you do this? via the phone? and on the spot? and did they ask you for any proof?

      Thanks :)
